OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL 5-BATTEN SAIL OF ALL TIME IS BACK! COMBINED WITH THE LIGHT DONE RIGHT CONSTRUCTION AND ALL THE OTHER DESIGN CONCEPTS DEVELOPED OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS, THE REBIRTH OF THE DUKE SETS A NEW STANDARD FOR WIND-RANGE-ORIENTED HANDLING SAILS.

Our most successful 5-batten sail of all time made a sensational comeback in 2023, and for 2025 we’ve given it a facelift!

The DUKE combines our LIGHT DONE RIGHT construction with all the other design concepts we’ve developed over the past ten years to set a new standard for wind-range-oriented handling sails.

The development of the DUKE was a 1.5-year project that always kept the end user at the center. As a starting point, we involved “real” end users who regularly use this type of sail, as well as our surf centers, to define a bucket list for the reincarnation of the DUKE. Here is the result and how it came about:

Maximum wind range, especially in shifting and/or very gusty conditions.

This is the most important factor and the biggest advantage when choosing a 5-batten sail. A simple rule of thumb is that more battens mean more control and a wider wind range. Normally, this has a negative effect on performance in the lower wind range, as more battens make it harder for the wind to fill the sail and make it less efficient to pump. That’s why we’ve adopted the BATTEN FREE CENTER concept from the SUPER_HERO. Instead of the usual even batten distribution, the DUKE has a larger gap between the foot batten and the batten above the Boom. This makes the boom area easier to inflate and increases stability at the top (due to the increased batten density in this area). The second disadvantage is that each batten increases the weight of the sail. This is why there has been a trend toward fewer battens in wave sails in recent years.

It feels super light in your hands, without falling apart after 1–2 seasons.

The lower weight of 4-batten sails was the main reason for the disappearance of 5-batten sails over the past decade. Fortunately, we’ve made some key design improvements over the last 10 years. The result of this development was the LIGHT DONE RIGHT CONSTRUCTION, introduced in 2022. By replacing the usual multi-layer reinforcements with a single layer of high-quality fabric and also introducing the ONE PIECE SLEEVE, the one-piece mast sleeve, we were able to reduce the total weight by 300 g. We are the only brand to have achieved these significant weight savings without reducing the thickness of the film and the XPly panels. This is the only way we can continue to guarantee our unmatched 5-year warranty. Another issue with reducing the film thickness is that the sail becomes spongy, as energy is lost due to increased stretch. This makes the sail feel heavier in your hands. Our sails are therefore not only on the They're lighter, but above all, they feel extremely light when you're out on the water. Because that's what really matters! Early

Planing performance even without excessive pumping

To achieve maximum glide performance, the DUKE features a high pressure point distribution combined with a deep profile that gets the board planing early.

Super neutral during maneuvers

To make tricks and turns as easy as possible, the sail should feel completely neutral in your hands during maneuvers. That’s why the DUKE is equipped with a pressure point positioned further forward. The forward pull cuts the power and shifts completely to neutral as soon as you open the sail or shift. This leads to a much higher success rate.

Good lift and control when jumping

The higher pressure point position also increases your airtime, as it generates lift, while the more forward-oriented pressure point helps you maintain control at all times.

Maximum range of use

One of the DUKE’s biggest advantages is its versatility. In bump-and-jump conditions, the Duke delivers pure excitement on your freewave board or, in a smaller size, for shredding on your freeride board. Thanks to its forward and high pressure point, it’s also well-suited for classic and even New School freestyle tricks. Last but not least, it’s a great sail for moderate wave and/or jump conditions, especially in gusty or challenging wind conditions. The new DUKE is thus a true all-around high-performance sail that challenges any handling-oriented sail.

Quick to rig

With all the features, markings, and tips we’ve developed over the past 40 years, it’s safe to say that no other sail can be rigged faster and more precisely than a DUOTONE sail. Even if you’re not a pro who sets up and trims your sail every day, you’ll still achieve the same perfect trim. Because only with the right trim can you fully harness the sail’s performance.

Similar feel to the larger freeride/performance sails

Another important factor is that all the sails in your quiver should have a similar feel or ride characteristics. This applies even to pros, because even they usually need a whole day to

get used

to a sail

that feels completely different. The main reason why sails feel different is the position of the pressure point in the sail. Fortunately, the DUKE also has a pressure point very similar to that of most modern freeride sails.

So you see, we’ve put all our know-how and experience into developing the most sophisticated high-performance Jump N’ Ride sail ever.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.
