Bei diesem traditionellen Verfahren werden zunächst Fäden aus Toquilla-Blättern gewonnen, die anschließend gefärbt und zu wunderschönen, eleganten Stücken verflochten werden, die den Höhepunkt der Kultur und Identität dieser Region verkörpern. Seit Jahrzehnten bewahren die Kunsthandwerker-Communities der Region die Kunst des Toquilla-Palmgeflechts und diese Kunstform stellt heute ihre wichtigste Einkommensquelle dar.
