Installation Guide

  1. Ensure the engine is off and securely positioned in a stand or on the vessel.
  2. Drain the gearcase oil completely by removing the drain and vent plugs.
  3. Remove the propeller assembly from the propshaft.
  4. Unbolt and carefully separate the entire gearcase (lower unit) from the outboard's midsection.
  5. Disassemble the lower unit to access the propeller shaft bearing housing, driveshaft, and shift shaft seals. Keep parts organized.
  6. Carefully remove all old seals, O-rings, and gaskets. Clean the component surfaces of any sealant, corrosion, or debris.
  7. Compare the new seals from the kit to the old parts to confirm correct sizing and placement.
  8. Lightly lubricate the new seals with marine grease before carefully pressing them into place. Ensure they are seated correctly.
  9. Install the new gaskets and O-rings during reassembly.
  10. Reassemble the lower unit, torquing all bolts to the manufacturer's specified values.
  11. Refill the gearcase with the correct grade and amount of fresh marine gear lube.
  12. Check for any leaks around the drain plugs, shafts, and seams before operating the engine under load.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I confirm this seal kit fits my Johnson/Evinrude engine?
A: This kit is specifically for 85-125 HP models from 1971-1972 with a large prop shaft. The best way to confirm fitment is to cross-reference your original part number with the ones listed, such as Sierra 18-2691, GLM 87611, or Mallory 9-74114.

Q: What are the signs that my lower unit seals are failing?
A: The most common symptoms are milky or water-contaminated gear oil (which looks like coffee with cream), visible oil leaks from the propeller shaft area, or a distinct burning smell coming from the gearcase after operation.

Q: How often should I replace the lower unit seals?
A: There is no fixed replacement interval. Seals should be replaced whenever the lower unit is serviced, if you notice any signs of leaks or water intrusion, or as a part of preventative maintenance on older engines.

Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

They prevent leaks, and fit great!
We have always used Huggies diapers for our babies and young toddlers because they were the only ones that never leaked or caused a rash. My second daughter was fully potty trained at 2.5 years old and never needed pull-ups. However, our third daughter, who also trained at 2.5 years old, digressed with her nighttime potty training due to instability - we moved twice within the first 6 weeks after she potty trained. So we had to get pull-ups for her to wear at night. Obviously since we loved Huggies diapers, we tried Huggies Pull-Ups, and again, they did not disappoint! They never leak, even on nights when she doesn't get up to go at all, and has lots of pee, and they have never caused a rash either, no matter how full. She's been using them for 1.5 years, at night, and we have never had any issues. They are dependable: decently comfortable to the child, do not cause rashes, fit properly with the ability to adjust at the thigh (if needed), and they prevent leaks! I highly recommend them!

The best quality and most reliable diaper for toddlers!
Size: 4T-5T, Unit Count: 99
So far Huggies Pull-Ups have been the best for our toddler before we venture out of diapers! The quality is impeccable. Now when it comes to size, I preferably go up a size for our toddler, they seem to fit better and give my toddler comfort. These pull ups will last throughout the night without any leakage and we’ve had very few to none rashes. Also one of my favorite thing about the Huggies Pull-Ups is the way they make it easy to put and take off with the option of either literally pulling up which helps get these toddler’s ready for under garments but it also comes with the side attachments. So what put these on however works best for you!

Great diapers
Size: 4T-5T, Unit Count: 17
These pull-ups are great. They’re very soft and have a cute little Minnie mouse print on them. They’re great for the price. Luckily my daughter only needs them for bedtime, but they’re great because she can put them on and pull them up by herself. The brand is great, I’ve never had an issue with this brand before.
