  • Potent antioxidant support for healthy mitochondria to help maintain healthy mental functions, including memory
  • Supports both the growth and health of mitochondria, the energy centers of our cells
  • Clinically studied to help protect brain health well into advanced years
  • Helps produce cellular energy to support physical function and muscle maintenance

Available from Swanson Health Products, PQQ (Pyrroloquinoline quinone) is a relatively newly discovered vitamin-like nutrient related to the B-vitamin family. PQQ is described as powerhouse that brings together some of the most beneficial aspects of vitamins C, B2 and B6 for your body.1 The breadth of PQQ's potential benefits is nothing short of amazing.

PQQ is an extremely powerful antioxidant, being at least 100 times more efficient in its ability to trigger continuous cycling than vitamin C and phenolic compounds tested to date.2 PQQ is capable of acting directly as an antioxidant and then being recycled back into an active form, significantly extending its capabilities to do the process over and over. This ability to perform repeated oxidation and reduction reactions means more consistent antioxidant activity in the body. Being a potent antioxidant brings major implications for the health of the brain, nervous system and potentially other systems throughout the body.

Antioxidants display neuroprotective actions—that is, protecting nerve cells against damage—for brain health and cognitive benefits.3 In fact recent research has shown that PQQ promotes visual and verbal memory in both younger and aging populations.4 This means PQQ may prove helpful in maintaining healthy brain function well into our advanced years.

Another way PQQ is active in the body is within mitochondria, the energy centers of cells. What we call "energy" is a molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP), produced by tiny cellular structures called mitochondria. ATP's job is to store energy and then deliver that energy to cells in other parts of the body to power your heart, brain, muscles, and other organs. When we are young our bodies have plenty of mitochondria working at their best; however as a normal part of typical aging mitochondrial quality and activity decrease over time. PQQ can help to promote the structure and function of the mitochondria, thereby supporting healthy cellular energy as we age.5 In a recent study, this impact of PQQ on mitochondrial health was linked to physical function and muscle maintenance.6 This indicates that supplementing with PQQ can help your muscles achieve more by assisting with cellular energy synthesis.

Slow, sorry but good
Format: Kindle
This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.

Very detailed! Beautiful world building! Strong Heroine!
Format: Kindle
Starts off a little slow and confusing with different POV’s, but starts to all come together towards the middle to make an elaborate plot line and makes it all worth it. Beautiful world building and attention to detail as well as great writing. The cliffhanger was gut wrenching! Can’t wait for the next book!

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love. I can’t wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟 This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens. The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him. I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure. My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!
