Maca for Reproductive Health

Maca is grown at high elevations in the Andes region of central Peru. It has been traditionally used for centuries as a food source and as a general energy tonic.* More recent scientific data suggest that "gelatinized" maca may help to support healthy sexual activity and fertility for men.* Clinical data indicate that maca does not exert a direct effect on endocrine function.* Gelatinization is a completely vegetarian process that removes starch from maca to yield a more concentrated product. Gelatinization does not refer to "gelatin", and no animal derived ingredients are incorporated into this process.

Manufacturing Testing and Assurance

Not manufactured with yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. Made and quality tested in the USA in NOW’s Natural Products Association (NPA) A-rated, GMP-certified manufacturing facility. NOW conducts approximately 19,000 quality control tests per month in their in-house labs to ensure their products are safe and effective. In taking more positive steps on their journey to reduce the company's environmental impact, NOW is starting the transition of their supplement bottles to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin in 2023. Replacing the NOW standard PET bottles with PCR resin allows the company to re-use recycled packaging materials and lighten NOW's footprint on the earth.
