Beautifully composed and expressed, it's elegant yet flavoursome with a prolonged, structured finish. At its best: now to 2032" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2020

"Deep, dark purple, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is generous, with aromas of plum, black cherry, spice, and hints of meaty nuance. Full-bodied, the aromas of plum and black cherry are entwined with clove, nutmeg, roasted meat, and rich herbs. The wine is mouth-filling and rich with forward fruit, enriched by spice and meaty details. Fine-grained tannins and lively acidity lightly frame the fruit and lend a succulent, moreish finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, May 2024

"There’s no mistaking the core bouquet of red berry fruits, some fresh black currant and peppercorn qualities in the bouquet. Scents are of a new, youthful and still settling in wine. This is confirmed on the palate with core flavours red berry fruits and balck currant set in a taut frame of youth accentuated by acidity and tannins. The use of oak is judicious and well placed. Well made with development time still ahead offering best drinking from 2026 through 2034+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Apr 2024

Ripe berry aromas followed by spice notes, juicy and rich, red fruits, plum and cherry flavours. Soft, easy textures and a silky finish. Very moreish and generous in character.

Elephant Hill produces handcrafted, small batch, artisanal wines from a blend of up to three sustainably farmed Hawke's Bay vineyards that each contributes a distinctive elemental character of SEA, EARTH & STONE.

2020 was a near perfect vintage for Hawke’s Bay, with a warm and dry growing season allowing picking to start early for the whites with superb ripeness and impeccable, healthy and clean fruit overall. Exceptional quality reds, with great elegance, rich complexity and concentration. Very age worthy wines with long cellaring potential.

Handpicked in late March & early April, with careful sorting in the vineyard and on arrival at the winery keeping only the best grapes. Predominantly Syrah blended from all three vineyard sites, co-fermented with a small portion of Viognier from the SEA vineyard in Te Awanga. Matured on lees in older barrel and tank for a total of 30 months, with 20% in new oak for 22 months.

Great scale that needs some improvements to be perfect
Color: White, Color: White
Very accurate scale, looks good in white, timer works nicely and I do like the concept of the ratio conversion. Shown in photos with 0 measurement drift over time, even without the silicone mat. To make this the best scale in the price range, I would change: - The auto timer function. Timing currently stops if you pick up the brew to swirl; you must completely restart the process if you do happen to pick it up. I would change that to only stop on user input (pressing a button). - The ratio conversion. Why offer XX.0 precision if you can only change the ratio in whole amounts? I'd suggest offering 0.1 increments, selectable with +/- buttons instead of cycling through. - The silicone mat is not well affixed and slides around. Kind of useless as-is and I just keep it off. I would wrap the whole thing around the measurement platform, similar to how the Greater Goods scale does it, to really keep it secure. It's not perfect, but for the price, it's a 4.5/5 for me. Rounding up to 5 since a 4 is considered "bad" by today's online rating standards.
