M1840 MUSICIAN’S SWORD BY EMERSON & SILVER DATED 1863 - Civil War EraBlade measures approximately 28. 00 inches long. The ricasso is marked on one side EMERSON & SILVER, TRENTON N. J. while the opposite side is marked US with inspectors initials of D. F. M. above the date 1863. Standard cast brass hilt with ribbed grip, round pommel cap and thin knuckle bow ending in a quillon. Knuckle bow is stamped with the same inspectors initials of D. F. M. This sword comes in its original scabbard that is painted white. Original
Blade measures approximately 28.00 inches long. The ricasso is marked on one side “EMERSON & SILVER, TRENTON N.J.” while the opposite side is marked “US” with inspector’s initials of “D.F.M.” above the date “1863.”
Standard cast brass hilt with ribbed grip, round pommel cap and thin knuckle bow ending in a quillon. Knuckle bow is stamped with the same inspector’s initials of “D. F. M.”
This sword comes in its original scabbard that is painted white.
