Incredible and rare vintage piece from Jean Paul Gaultier, Fall/Winter 1984, shown here documented on the runway in other colors. This dress is unreal, and the styling possibilities are endless. Where do we begin? The style of this dress is a shirt style, with the upper being like an oversized polo - complete with partial button placket, and black collar and stretch wool sleeves. The shirt portion is cut higher in the front than the back. From the sides/back, two extra long fabric panels extend - you can wrap and drape them over the shoulders, or tie it at the waist, as shown here. Lovely semi-stretch jersey in brown with a contrasting black collar.
