DESCRIPTION

A peaches and cream handwoven fine cotton cape with embroidered zardozi florets edged with Maheshwari zari borders...a quiet study in elegance. Gently enhanced with a delicate Maheshwari stole, a perfect understated ensemble, can be paired with a range of upper and lower garments.

ABOUT THE CRAFT

MAHESHWARI
Maheshwari textiles of Madhya Pradesh were gifted to royal visitors in the times of queen Ahilyabai Holkar who ruled Indore state in the 18th century. Almost extinct few decades ago, they have now been revived with over 3000 artisans actively engaged from the preparatory stage to the completion of woven fabric.

MAHESHWARI TECHNIQUE
The process of creating a Maheshwari involves preparation of the  silk warp which is hand dyed to the required color. The warp typically has fine denting patterns which give the fabric its delicate ribbed appearance. Fine gold borders are linked by dobby attachments to the loom and weft bobbins wound in readiness for weaving. The pallas or end panels are sometimes ornamented with extra weft patterns and referred to as Jhala pallas. These diaphanous textiles with their unique silk warp and cotton weft construction are known as Neem Reshmi fabrics. Hand woven on pit or frame looms over 4000 silk threads are tied manually to form a single sari warp. The intricate gold borders and light, gossamer fabric when draped, at once magically transports the wearer as it were, to a bygone era lost in the sands of time.

Great for Sublimation!
I’m a bit new to sublimation and was worried about having dull colors, but this ink is doing wonders! The quality is great, I can adjust the amount on the printer and get the exact, rich, vibrant colors I want. (I found some recommended settings for brightness, contrast, etc… and then tweak the cyan, magenta, and yellow to the desired amount.) I definitely recommend getting this ink! It’s so easy to refill the printer (I have an Eco tank 15000). The cost is not bad at all. I’ve only washed some of the items one time and so far the ink has remained unchanged. Seems like a winner to me!

Vibrant colors, great traction on fabric, and easy cleanup
This sublimation ink has been a great find. The colors are vibrant and transfer beautifully to fabrics, mugs, and phone cases. The traction on the material is excellent—designs don’t smudge or fade easily after pressing. I also appreciate how clean it is to work with. Refilling my Epson EcoTank printer was simple, and there were no messy drips or stains. Cleanup of tools and surfaces was quick with just a damp cloth. For beginners or experienced crafters, this ink delivers consistent, professional-looking results every time.
