The Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle Earth is a two-player strategy board game that reimagines the 7 Wonders Duel system as an epic clash between the Fellowship and Sauron for the fate of Middle-earth.
One player leads the Fellowship, racing to protect the Free Peoples and see the One Ring destroyed, while the other commands Sauron’s legions, seeking to hunt down Frodo and Sam and plunge the land into shadow. You’ll draft cards from a shared pyramid display to undertake quests, rally the Races of Middle-earth, deploy units, and pull off clever maneuvers, all while expanding your presence across a map of key regions. Each game unfolds over three chapters, and every turn you’ll choose whether to play a card or a powerful High Place to boost your economy, military reach, or progress on the Quest for the Ring. Victory can come in multiple ways-win the Ring’s quest, forge alliances with six Peoples, or dominate Middle-earth on the map-making every decision tense and meaningful. Designed for 2 players ages 10 and up with a brisk 30-minute playtime, it delivers a compact duel that still feels like a full journey across Middle-earth.
