This GoWesty-designed Lower Control Arm Bushing Kit (LCA) is a complete system engineered specifically for the particular needs of the Vanagon front suspension. It is superior to other basic polyurethane bushing kits sold elsewhere.

Our design allows urethane to do what it does best - act as the mounting material only.* So that the urethane can slide without any lube, we use a PTFE ("Teflon") sleeve between it and a stainless steel sleeve that is bolted solid to the body. The PTFE and stainless steel provide a low-friction contact surface, and the polyurethane provides the flex needed for suspension articulation and vibration isolation. Between the urethane and the body on each end, we add a very tough nylon thrust washer to protect the relatively soft urethane where it would otherwise contact the body and wear out rapidly, like regular urethane LCA "bushings" do. The result is a completely maintenance-free bushing/mount system that outlasts anything else on the market. No grease required! These bushings won't squeak like other aftermarket polyurethane bushing options.

*Urethane is great mount material, but a horrible bushing material. This is because it has a relatively high coefficient of friction and requires some sort of lubrication, typically have grease to keep it from groaning horribly. If you don't keep it lubed, it will groan and wear out rapidly. The typical urethane suspension bushings available for cheap just don't work, period. Don't get fooled into thinking the GoWesty bushings are just another urethane bushing. What we offer is way more than that!
