This jadeite pendant is a very good example of the kind of jade stone and carving prior to the 21st century.  Old mine lao pit jadeite with soft lavender hues, very detailed carving of pixie (symbol of protection), peaches (symbol of woman, feminine) and lucky coin near Pixiu's head.  45x30x10mm thick.  The carving is raised and detailed, so the pendant is lightly polished.  The unpolished portions of the pendant add interest and texture.  The lavender hues are very soft, and lavender jade has qi energy for healing, wisdom and spirituality, enlightenment.   The carving process caused some cracks  on the reverse side of the jade stone.  Chinese people do not consider cracks caused by the carving process "imperfections" because it shows the jade is real, genuine, hand carved.   The traditional jade carvers would examine and consider the jade stone, then choose an auspicious jade to being his carving.  This jade pendant is an example of that kind of workmanship.
