The Crash Bar is meant to be insurance to help save your oil pan. It sits approximate 3/4" lower than the oil pan and will now be the primary piece taking the abuse from daily driving. The idea here is that any obstructions you may face in the road will first hit the crash bar and saving the oil pan.

Mineral sunscreens have yet to master blending in and this is no different. If you're thinking of hitting the beach with your sexy bum protected it'd better be a ghost beach because you'll look like you've been dipped in white paint. Oh, and it doesn't wash off, so be prepared to look like Casper for days to come.
It rolls on fine if you shake it well first and it does protect.
