The 24” Mother Tesla Gong is a version of the Chau Gong, the classic bullseye design, however what we asked our gong makers to do was NOT lathe it. There are several reasons for this. And several effects sonically and energetically.

By not polishing off the iron oxide, the gongmakers make sure that the gong is solid and mellifluous coming out of the oven. It creates a gong with less force on the crash and more of a spectrum of tones organic to the bronze. These gongs look good and sound good at their basic level.

The 24” Solar Flare Gong is a less traditional Chinese Gong than some of the other styles. It’s a more recent design created by Chinese gong makers and is available to all gong sellers, so we felt compelled to put it in the Traditional section. It is basically a Wind Gong, but with concentric bands of lathed and unlathed circles. The unlathed parts control the crash and splash, less than a Wind Gong. The rings concentrate the tones and it does not open up sound-wise like a fully lathed gong.

The 26" Chocolate Drop Gong was designed by Gongs Unlimited with our happy gongmaker in Wuhan China. You cannot get this gong anywhere else!

Based on a Chau Gong, that is the bullseye design with a rim, we removed the outer ring. What this does is give you a bit more response and shimmer and splash. It is not a crash like a Wind Gong, but more!

Because we have had the outer ring area lathed, it has a bouncier, more lively tone, and faster response when you strike it.

The 26” Trilogy Gong shares kinship with our Mother Tesla gongs, being mostly unlathed save for the point in the center and the three shining rings that encircle it. It has a deep, layered sound. It is slower to crash and maintains a sonorous, oscillating tone.

Great things often come in threes: primary colors, states of matter, blind mice, and rings on an Unlimited Trilogy Gong. The rings on this gong help give it a steady tremolo, or ripple effect. Fitting, as the rings resemble a ripple in still water. (perhaps made when there was no pebble tossed nor wind to blow, as The Grateful Dead would say)

The Fruity Buddha Gong Stand is named in honor of the Chinese horticulturist's years of fine work that culminated in growing pears in the shape of the Buddha.



This stand is easy to assemble, easy to take apart and travel with, and has easily adjustable top hooks for where the holes in your gong are.
