A superb large 18th century George III mahogany dining chair, with what looks like the original leather horse hair-filled seat.

Made in the Chippendale manner from quality, heavy mahogany, with a pierced vase-shaped back splat. Wonderful deep color and patina, well-carved detailing to the back splat (no repairs that I can see either), nice channeling to the back too, and legs chamfered on the inside.

Timeworn and full of character, tears to the leather which I've left as found, but still very solid with no movement or dodgy repairs and still useable, I've just given it a wax polish. Missing the stretcher across the middle which I might restore with period wood if I get round to it, but still very nice as is.
