It's 1864, during the siege of Atlanta. Desperate to escape her drunken father and her vicious fiance, Willa Randall dons her dead brother's clothing, changes her name to Will Barber, and joins a Confederate cavalry unit led by Captain Jefferson Spencer. Unschooled in military matters, Willa overcomes one problem, only to find another waiting to ambush her on the path ahead. She first idolizes then falls in love with her captain, who sees her as just another youthful recruit. She must learn the skills of a soldier amid the heat of battle and the threat of sudden death. All the while Edgar Dodds, the obsessive fiance, is on her trail, seeking to reclaim his possession. Captain Spencer, a grieving widower, avoids forming attachments that can lead to more grief. Even his own life holds little value to him. When he is inexplicably attracted to his aide, Will, more self-doubt dogs him. Through it all, his liking for the engaging youngster begins to restore his appreciation for life. Willa fears that when Captain Spencer discovers her secret, he will banish her from her sanctuary among the soldiers. Her experiences with the brutal men in her past give her little hope that he will take her part when Edgar Dodds catches up with her. On that devastating night, Willa sees no choice but to run away again, far from both the man she fears and the man she loves."Binding Type: Paperback

Refunding/giftcards. Thank you
They were nice enough to replace my vacuum even though the battery was defective. They usually don't cover batteries. So it was a great. But they were nice enough to give me a gift card for the whole amount. Thanks

Great Vacuum for Pet Households
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Excellent vacuum for houses with pets and carpet. It’s outrageously powerful and is light and easy to maneuver around. The color is a perk too, looks great.

Great vacuum
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Bought this to replace a Dyson, and I love it! Strong suction and super quiet. I was especially interested in this vacuum because of allergies and wanted better filtration to keep dust down, and this succeeded. I got no dust blowing around and the house doesn’t smell like dog after vacuuming. I did buy the Miele hepa filter since that does not come with this vacuum. Great purchase for allergies - Worth the money!

Major purchase! Builds muscle
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
I've had a Miele for 14 years before the powerhead burned up. Decided to invest in a new one as 225 for a powerhead was a gamble on one that old. I like to use a vacuum rather than a dust mop, and I have carpet as well. Did a bit of research and decided this one was the one for me. I did keep my old swivel parquet floor attachment as it fits. haven't used the floor head that came with this one much, so jury is still out. The new powerhead is HEAVY. Takes a while to learn to maneuver it well, but it really gets the deep pile carpet cleaner. Love the longer cord and hose. Overall, happy with the Miele Guard1. The only reason for the 4 stars is because it does take muscle to work the powerhead. Quieter than my old one, which is pleasing to husband.
