Carmine Red Witch Hazel is a vase-shaped deciduous shrub with broad deep green leaves that emerges bright green with maroon margins and turns buttery yellow, orange, or red in fall.  Fragrant clusters of branch hugging fiery pink-red to red flowers with ribbon petals bloom from late winter into spring before the foliage emerges.  Best bloom in full sun and moist, acidic, well-drained soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Water regularly. Remove suckers to prevent spreading.  Watch for aphids, weevils, scale and miners.  Potential diseases include powdery mildew, and occasional leaf spot/rots.
