The cover is generally smooth, flat, and reflects light well with 60% of original gloss with some light creasing mostly near the edges.  There are some patches on the cover that have lost their gloss.  There are extremely hard to detect creases caused by the printing process that run the width of the cover on a line thru standing Superman's abdomen and just above Kal's head; they are much too slight to show up on the supersize image.  A black streak on a line parallel to and 1/4 inch above the bottom edge.  Some light creases in the lower right corner.   Only a hint if that of cover soiling.  Interior pages are off-white to maybe a light tan near the edges and are very supple.  Slight spine stress marks.  The staples are well placed and the cover is attached to both staples.  The edges are nice with little wear and little creasing.  The cover is well cut with color extending nearly to the actual edge of the book.  The book lies relatively flat and the corners are squarish with little wear.  Many experienced sellers would rate this VF- and overall this book is beautiful.

 

Comic Grading - Definition of a Crease.
     
Crease - A fold which causes ink removal, usually resulting in a white line.  This seems to be the sense of what a crease is to Overstreet's Grading Guidelines and most comic graders.  We note two categories of creasing in our descriptions, 1) color breaking and 2) non-color breaking. 
 
For a color breaking crease, it must show that white line, though of course the thickness, length, and cover location of the crease are all important factors in how severely the crease actually degrades the cover's impact.
 
A non-color breaking crease is technically not a crease since it doesn't break color, but to those of us who have spent hours obsessing over our books, it is an interruption in the gloss or how the cover reflects light.  Take a smooth unblemished white sheet of paper and press your thumb nail into it several times using varying amounts of pressure.  As the paper is white there is no break in color, but depending on lighting and its angle to the paper eventually you would be able to see every point where the nail impressed the paper.  Again the noticeability, number, and locations of non-color breaking creases are factors affecting the quality of the cover.
 
If a cover is generally smooth, this means the non-color breaking creases present are interfering little with the cover's appearance.  These kinds of creases range from unnoticeable in normal viewing conditions to very intrusive.  A comic must be very carefully handled to avoid leaving these impressions at the edges.
 
Unfortunately, scans of the covers, even the enlargeable images we employ, do not always fully depict these imperfections.  We try to fill in the gaps by offering our estimate of what the Overstreet Grade would likely be, and by giving a detailed written description. 
 
Like most comic buyers and graders we have exchanged thoughts with, we agree that Overstreet Grading Guidelines provide a helpful starting point to access a book's quality, but we all have our own tastes and biases, and sharp disagreements on various books as well as complaints about Overstreet's approach.  Different books will impress you differently than they would us, which is why we try to be detailed and factual.  We are merely trying to provide buyers with enough background so the book received satisfies or exceeds the expectations generated by our listing.

So many things to LOVE - you should buy it.
So glad I bought this french press!! I am honestly surprised it wasn't more expensive for this quality. My beverage stays very hot while brewing (that was a problem with my old glass one). I typically transfer to a travel mug so not sure how long it would stay hot but my guess is a long time. The double wall all stainless steel retains heat, is very well made and sturdy. I don't have to worry about glass cracking when I add boiling water (my old one cracked) . I also have no fear of dropping it because it is so solid but I don't think I will drop it because the handle is so easy to hold and sturdy. It pours well, no dribbling and I love the coffee bean picture on the lid that shows you how to turn the lid to pour it. My FAVORITE feature is the measurement markings inside. Why don't all French presses have this!!! There is a bit of resistance and a little metal on metal noise when you depress the filter which might bother some people. It is metal on metal and it is a snug fit so you have to push slowly...like 5 seconds instead of 2-3 but it means zero grounds in your cup. It keeps me in the moment and is still easy to use. Also cleans up easily and looks very nice. I would recommend to everyone. I LOVE it. UPDATE: I have been using basically daily for 2 months and still LOVE it. Works and acts like new. The metal on metal noise disappeared after 2-4 weeks. I am not really sure when. one day I just suddenly realized it wasn't making that noise anymore. I would 100% buy it again if I needed another one.
