Have you ever wanted to delve into the Dark Art of Draping, to create your patterns? 

Draping is a wonderful way to quickly develop ideas for designs working directly with your cloth. Learning how to manage fabric and manoeuvre it to create the shapes you want on your mannequin, or even a person. 

In this three day workshop you will develop an understanding of the basic principles of draping and how to control your fabric. We will create a few practice shapes, experimenting with how you can handle and drape the fabric over a mannequin.

Then we will work together to create a working pattern for a draped top. You will drape the shape directly onto your mannequin and then remove the fabric toile and use that to create the pattern. You will true up and adjust the pattern so it can be remade to check the fit and the design. 

As this is an Intro Course we will all make up the same style of top. But as you are draping the shape yourself all the garments will be completely individual and unique.
