Featuring historic photographs from the collection of the Mineral Point Historical Society and Pendarvis-Wisconsin State Historic Site-an exciting history unfolds in these pages, with the arrival of miners from the fledgling United States in the 1820s in search of lead. When the demand for lead collapsed, Mineral Point shifted its focus to the mining of zinc, only to have that market drop after World War I. Mineral Point was reawakened in the 1930s with the influx of artists and others, like Edgar Hellum and Robert Neal, who were interested in historic preservation. The town has transformed itself once again, becoming a vibrant artistic, historic, and architectural center. In 1971, it became the first Wisconsin community to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places, with 514 contributing buildings. This fascinating pictorial history celebrates the people of Mineral Point-the early American settlers from Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky, and the Cornish, German, Irish, and Italian immigrants. Mineral Point, Wisconsin, also features their legacy-their homes, businesses, schools, and organizations. Perfect Compact Size and Smooth Efficient Grind
I absolutely love these salt and pepper grinders! They are perfectly-sized, less cumbersome than most 12"+ sized grinders. They're wide enough to hold more than it looks like they hold, which means less refilling required. The grind is smooth and flawless - it usually only takes me one quick single-hand- motion to season my plate. I use pink Himalayan salt, and black peppercorns, and can adjust it easily to suit my or my husband's grind preferences. These grinders are pretty enough to set out on a table for dinner guests, while being quick and efficient for ourselves.

Perfect Salt & Pepper Grinders
Size: 2.5" x 5.1"
Excellent design, size and function, plus they have CLEAR PLASTIC TOPS so you can easily see how much ground salt or pepper you have to sprinkle on your food. After using my first set I knew I needed another set for different combinations of pepper corns in particular. Oh, and they come with an extra set of ceramic grinding wheels (yes, ceramic, not plastic as a few reviewers falsely claim). Very smooth operation and adjustable from fine to coarse sizes. Here's my recommendation for use. First, use quality coarse salt and whole pepper corns. Second, don't grind with lid off over hot steaming food while cooking because the steam will negatively effects the salt and pepper in the grinders, the grind quality you get, and will ultimately clog the grinders. Just grind with lid on until you get the required amount (hence the need for the clear caps), open the caps and sprinkle. Easy peasy... ☺

Nice grinder set

These are a really pretty grinder set. They work well, but after a bit they don't grind as well, and the tops try to come off. They are also NOT dishwasher safe. They will literally melt, even on the top shelf.

Perfect size! Easy to hold and turn the grinder. Grinds both S & P well. Easy to fill and comes with a top to cover grinder when not in use. Perfect look and style for a table or to store for easy reach beside your stove. It also come with 2 extra replacement grinders if needed. An excellent product at a reasonable price! These are great!

I've had these for about a year year and a half and I really like them this morning the salt shaker broke, so I just ordered another set (they're not sold individually) to replace the one that broke. If you should happen to drop them on the floor the plastic top will crack!!
