The Illinois River flows behind them, dugout canoes crossing its surface, while the Eastern Redbud arches overhead. Subtle footprints in the soil recall the Trail of Tears. A rainbow spans the sky above, a symbol of hope and healing. This design was created in close collaboration with cultural advisors from multiple Oklahoma tribes, including a registered Choctaw artist. Inscribed in the artwork: "The greatest strength is gentleness."
