Yuko Mabuchi moved to the United States from her native Japan only recently, but when she plays American jazz she speaks the language perfectly. We love Yuko's sense of rhythm and melody, and her improvising feels like she was born in Detroit or New York City. Her technique reminds one of some of Yuko's music idols like Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock and Monty Alexander. But beyond her talent for traditional jazz, one can also hear flavors of American R&B, Hip-Hop and Blues, which Yuko loved as a teenager. This album's associate producer and Yarlung special advisor Billy Mitchell describes Yuko's playing as "funky from the heart," and he means that as an enormous compliment. Yuko was born in Fukui, on the west coast of Japan, north of Kyoto. She studied classical music and the piano starting at age four, and continued her studies at the AN Music School in Kyoto, where she was a jazz piano student of Kunihiro Kameda. Yarlung first heard the Yuko Mabuchi Trio at Catalina Bar and Grill in Hollywood and offered to record their debut album the next day. This live concert recording session took place in Cammilleri Hall, the same concert venue designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, where Yarlung recorded Sophisticated Lady jazz quartet in 2014. Jazz pianist and educator Billy Mitchell served as associate producer.

It's 2 panels holding 1 big privacy screen. Can't use as 2 separate 4' panels, but works great.

This 2 panel privacy screen works well. Assembly was very straight forward, with easily labeled tubes. My son and I had it together in about 10 minutes, which was probably 3 minutes of me telling him to quit playing around and hand me the parts. It feels very sturdy, not likely to fall over or anything. The material fits well, with the Velcro being very strong. Measurements are all very accurate, with all pieces attaching properly. We have a similar privacy screen at work that we have to try and stretch out because the top and bottom Velcro doesn't fit quite right... this model does not have any issues though. The material is thin and light weight, but solid black so that you can't see anything through or behind it. I definitely think it's a great deal for the money.
What I think would have given it 5 stars though, is if you had 2 totally separate 4' panels instead of 2 panels with one big screen. It really wouldn't cost any extra to make it so that the screen was in 2 pieces and you could use it as 2 separate panels instead of having to use it as one big panel. It says 2 panel folding privacy screens, but it's really one big one that folds in the middle.

The fabric panels are sturdy and scratch-resistant, and the pine frame gives them a clean, natural look. Easy to move and reposition as needed, making them great for bedrooms, studios, or shared spaces. They don’t feel flimsy and hold their shape once set up.

Not quite but close.

The panel is hollow. If you’re buying it thinking it’s going to dampen sound, it really won’t. I bought some foam to put in the hollow part and that works okay, but it shouldn’t be required.

Fantastic performance with respect to privacy and room temperature.

While this standing room divider is tall and wide enough to provide a nice privacy barrier, it also allows light to filter through while maintaining that privacy. Assembly was easy with simple to follow directions and the only place I struggled was in pulling the fabric down to connect it. Similar to putting on a compression sock- it takes time and stretching/pulling. I don't think I ever got it to line up completely at the bottom and velcro together like it should, but it is a fantastic benefit. I have a home office on the ground floor, so when the curtains are open, it's not entirely unexpected to have a passerby look in as they go past. This provides basically a wall for them to look at. And I love it. Aside from the privacy, an unexpected benefit is wind control. On hotter days, my dog likes the window open, but hot to him may be cold to me, so I open it for him and allow this instant wall to shelter me. It is surprisingly effective at keeping the cold breeze from reaching me. I could not be more impressed with this divider. It stands on its own and provides privacy and temperature regulation through it's sturdy frame and thick (light-friendly) fabric.
