This young girl is caught in a justice system so full of holes that it is responsible for forcing her to return to an abusive father. She lived each day afraid of what he would do next. As he pointed a 9mm in her face he says,"this is what I do people who make me mad and he shakes it in her face." Children every day are sent into abuse by a system that fails to protect them and provide for the basic need to be safe. She nearly broke as each person down the chain passed the buck. The strength of her mom kept her fighting until they could see just how broken she was. She was made to feel it was her fault. She was called a liar. How can our system victimize a child for speaking out? Glue can't fix abuse and band aids don't stop the pain. Her tears fell until they could fall no more.
