While cycling around his home-district of Peckham (in southeast London) a few years ago, Sean O'Hagan decided that not only would the new High Llamas music be driven by narratives, a collection of stories, but they would first have to be performed as theatre; reshaped theatre, if you like, blending stories, songs and soundtrack. It was essential for these performances to take place before the songs and underscores were recorded. The resultant piece, Here Come The Rattling Trees, introduces six characters, some real, some less so, whom Sean has encountered over past years in Peckham. It is also The High Llamas new LP. Here Come The Rattling Trees was first performed in the Montpelier Theatre pub in Peckham in June 2014, and in October 2014, it played for a week-long run at the Tristan Bates Theatre in Covent Garden, London. The original performance cast was: Ray Newe, Richard Heap and Jennifer Scott Malden. The story centers around Amy, an unsettled 28-year-old with a desire to travel. She finds herself in Peckham Square working in temporary employment publicizing the rebranding of the local leisure centre. Peckham Leisure is to become Step Tempo and will pass from public ownership to private management. While leafleting in the square Amy encounters five characters, who, it transpires, have their own stories to tell. These stories have emerged from Peckham over the past 25 years and speak of buildings and change; of hopes, ambitions and disappointments. This is the soundtrack to those stories. With witty, artful musical strokes, Sean and The High Llamas have crafted deft musical sketches with the signature Llamas sound that has evolved over ten album releases since 1992. A colorful array of electric, acoustic, and synthetic instruments, alongside Sean O'Hagan's gentled vocals, are deployed to transport the listener to the low-key highs and lows of the British working week an incisive, sympathetic view to the wonders slipped in between the pages and too often passed over in everyday life.

nice quality, great size
This is a nice quality. It is a very good size for large dogs. I have a German Shepherd and it's a very good size for her. She took it when I first attempted to give it to her and she chewed on it for a minute, but then didn't want anything to do with it. If I put peanut butter on it and freeze it she does go for it, just licking the peanut butter off of it and then loses interest again. She has no interest in chewing it. I view it more as a lick mat that she can carry around than anything else, which can get messy if not supervised.
Maybe other dogs would be more interested in this. I took one star away because as a standalone chew my dog has zero interest in it. I do really like the quality of it and I do feel like it would last a while for chewers. I do think for dogs interested in it this is a good chew, but it just depends if the dog will be attracted to it. I don't always want to give it to her with peanut butter on it since that can get messy. A good value though.

Fun in a Great Toy & Fantastic Bargain!
Style: Mummy with Organs
LOVE THIS DOG TOY!! We have 5 rescue dogs, a 13# little one, & 4 lg ones from 70-100 lbs! This toy is fantastic for all of them! It’s so much fun pulling out the various inner “organs” & handing them out (when we first got it)! The dogs were So Excited getting the different parts & squeaking them like Crazy! The main big mummy (10”+) squeaks & crinkles, which goes over really well, too! The nice thing is the center of the mummy, where all the parts are held, is opened/closed via a sturdy zipper! Unlike other items with “stuffed parts” that have Velcro strips to hold the items inside, that ends up all wet & destroyed by chewing, the zipper allows me to open it & close it. This allows my smarter dogs more of a challenge as they can’t just easily open it & get the items inside pulled out a few routine times & then get bored & just destroy them & the Velcro! It also allows me to keep some of the smaller items that I like to keep intact for my small 13# dog, inside the mummy body where they’re protected from my Pit Bull mixes who chew the small toys like gum (I supervise, of course!) destroying the squeakers inside after a few good chomps! This toy is very well made! Despite being aggressively played with by very lg dogs with very strong jaws, every toy (except the set of lungs which have small sections holding them together) has held together, which is a big surprise! Most toys last minutes in this house! The mummy has held up well, with the zipper closed, too! This is such a great bargain for All the toys you get in this set & even You will have fun pulling out the insides & going back to your old High School Biology class to figure out what organ is which! My husband & I had a blast along with our 5 pups playing with this fun set of well made toys! We’re buying another set to have for back up once this set bites the dust! Yeah, it’s That Great!! If you have a small dog, or even a couple, there are so many smaller toys that you can keep some of them aside & introduce them later! A really Great Bargain & Lots of Fun!
