Shigeru Takeuchi was born in Kanagawa, Japan. While studying for his degree in conservation biology at the university, he learned not only how human beings can conserve the natural world, but also the importance of why they should. Vegetable: The Man Who Transfigured into Half Plant and Half God was written out his desire to inspire others, in an entertaining manner, with his philosophies of life and nature.
