  • Eflite Decathlon RJG 1.2m BNF Basic with AS3X and SAFE Select
  • THE CHAMPION AMONG THE ARTISTIC FLIGHT TRAINERS!

The Decathlon is generally considered one of the best aerobatic trainers in man-carrying aviation! Its iconic design is based on the Aeronca Champ and Citabria, but was equipped with inverted fuel and oil systems as well as a nearly symmetrical wing profile for easy negative figures and inverted flight. The E-flite® Decathlon RJG 1.2 m is a replica of the Decathlon that RJ Gritter (RJG) flies, suitable for everyday use. RJ has been a model pilot almost his entire life and began competing in national and international aerobatic competitions at the age of 16. His passion for RC aerobatics also led to a strong interest in man-carrying aerobatics. RJ designed a new color scheme for his Decathlon for the 2024 airshow season and was also involved in the development of this unique E-flite model, which allows for both relaxed sport flying and aggressive aerobatics! The model features LED landing and navigation lighting as well as a variety of scale details to provide an authentic flight experience. It is aimed at both advanced pilots who want to improve their aerobatic skills and experienced pilots who want to focus on aggressive aerobatics. Digital servos with metal gears are installed on all rudders while the model is equipped with a 3S and 4S compatible drive system with a 45A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite controller. The BNF Basic version is also equipped with an AR631 receiver to provide real-time telemetry data along with AS3X and SAFE Select technologies.

    Features

    • A full-scale model of the legendary man-carrying aerobatic aircraft flown by RJ Gritter at air shows across the USA
    • Specially tuned motor compatible with 3S and 4S batteries without the need for modifications or upgrades
    • Popular 3S and 4S 2200-3200mAh batteries offer excellent performance and flight times

    overview

The E-flite Decathlon RJG 1.2m is one of the most powerful and handy models of the legendary aerobatic trainer! It is a replica of the Decathlon that RJ Gritter (RJG) flies at air shows across the United States and features a classic but modernized red, white and blue color scheme. Additionally there is a variety of scale details, including functional LED landing and navigation lighting, wheel shoes and wing struts. The one-piece wing is easy to assemble and disassemble thanks to self-connecting servo connectors and knurled screws. Although the ready-to-fly model is a handy size and easy to store and transport, the struts snap in and out without the need for tools! Digital servos with metal gears and push rods with ball heads ensure precise and reliable steering for classic and aggressive aerobatics. The 3S and 4S compatible propulsion system features a 45A Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite controller and the BNF® Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to provide real-time telemetry data along with AS3X® and optional SAFE® Select, including thrust reverser. All of these details and features come together to create a very practical and extremely capable model that is a great choice for intermediate and experienced pilots!

Experience Level 2 – Next step after a trainer – Some experience required

Experience Level 2 – Next step after a trainer. Experience Level 2 aircraft like this are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, program and fly similar class models. And although it is the easiest Decathlon model to fly so far, it is not a suitable first RC aircraft for beginners. You should have the necessary experience and skills to operate a trainer model such as the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1 m or the Carbon Cub 1.3 m or models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1 m, the Valiant 1.3 m, the Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5 m etc. to fly successfully before attempting to fly the Decathlon RJG 1.2m.

Would you like to start model flying? If so, the Decathlon is not a suitable first RC model and we recommend learning to fly with one of our specially designed trainer aircraft such as the HobbyZone® Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m (www.horizonhobby.cc/CarbonCubS2RTF). These are equipped with the exclusive and innovative SAFE technology and enable almost everyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic Version includes almost everything you need to fly (except a compatible LiPo battery and charger, which are sold separately) and is the perfect choice if you are new to the model aircraft hobby! You can even use the DXS transmitter and the 3S 2200mAh battery used for the Carbon Cub to fly the Decathlon RJG 1.2m BNF Basic Version after you have successfully learned model flying!

    Exclusive technologies

The BNF® Basic version is equipped with the exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger aircraft. The optional SAFE Select offers bank angle limits as well as automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the touch of a button to make flying easier! And if you don't want to activate the SAFE Select function, bind the receiver normally and only AS3X is active.

    Spektrum Smart Technology

This Decathlon RJG 1.2m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC, which provides a variety of real-time propulsion system telemetry data, including engine speed, battery voltage and more - using smart and non-smart batteries - via compatible receivers and transmitters (including the AR631; in combination with Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20 and others). It also has an optional engine/thrust reverse function that provides special ground handling and other features!

    Versatile performance

The factory-installed brushless drive system features a 45A Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC and a specially tuned motor that delivers plenty of thrust when connected to a 3S 2200 mAh LiPo battery or, in combination with a 4S 3200 mAh battery, even higher flight speed and unlimited vertical climb performance delivers without the need for modifications or upgrades.

    Scale features

Functional LED landing and navigation lighting, wing struts and cycling shoes are prototypical features that further highlight your experience with this model.

    RJG color scheme

Like the original, which can be seen at air shows across the United States, the model features the classic, yet modern red, white, blue RJ Gritter (RJG) color scheme.

    Easy construction

No glue is required for final assembly and you can have the Decathlon RJG 1.2m ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And although the model is a handy size and fits in almost any vehicle when fully assembled, you can also remove the wing to make storage and transport even easier. Thumb screws, self-connecting servo connectors and quick connectors on the wing struts ensure tool-free assembly.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."

Great Read!!! Great story!!!
Format: Kindle
The series is long, but Ms. Wolfhart does a fantastic job of weaving this tale while bringing so much to the characters. Surprises and plot twists along the way to keep you intrigued. There is some graphic sex, but is no way the focal point. Grammar was excellent (a rare find with a lot of self publishers) with only a few noted errors. I rarely give 4 stars, let alone 5.

Sadly, DNF
Format: Kindle
I read this thru KU. I LOVED the synopsis. And then I began reading... and it was a DNF at 68% after picking it up and putting it down several times because I really loved the main female character. *****SPOILERS***** Pros: The world is unique, intriguing and fun. The primary female character is bad-a** but not a b*tech or a mary sue. The primary female has depth. I really want to know what happens to her even tho it's been weeks and I don't remember her name. The villains to the point I read are pretty good -- an ever present threat of mysterious and possibly many culprits. Cons: Way, way too many points of view. I stopped counting at 7. It's the prime reason why I don't care about most of the characters or remember their names even when I like them. There's just too many points of view so almost none of the characters have enough book space for the author to properly develop them. This literally killed the book for me. Actually it killed my desire to read. For weeks. The main male is more villain than hero. He agreed to marry the main female then locks her up & eschews her for her sister, all while bad mouthing her as unfit to rule when he never spent any time with her getting to know her. He is actually unfit to rule as he is blind to the woes of his own kingdom and starts off a peace mission to secure a ceasefire through marriage by murdering an inn full of people in her country for no real reason. Plus, he constantly makes promises he does not keep. And it's gross of him to pine for the sister behind the main female's back. ***** As much as I really wanted to see what happened to the main female character, it wasn't enough for me to keep trying to slog thru this book. There was a lot of potential here that just fell short. Hence, 3 stars.

Fae Courts with High Intrigue
Format: Kindle
This book is one that just builds and builds and then surprises you to no end. You may think you know the villains and then you are jolted in another direction. Princess Reyna is a real gem, strong of character, a fierce fighter, and loyal to her family and kingdom. Just when you think she and Lorcan, well you know, the plot is flipped. Can't wait to see where this goes in book two.

Slow, sorry but good
Format: Kindle
This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.
