Sennheiser HS 2 BK 3-Pin Omnidirectional Headset Microphone (Black)

The Sennheiser HS 2 BK 3-PIN (Article Number: 508885) is a factory-original original equipment manufacturer (OEM) high-end condenser headset microphone engineered for uncompromising broadcast, theatrical, and high-tier live performance applications.

Integrating Sennheiser’s legendary MKE 2 omnidirectional capsule, this discreet neckband system delivers pristine sound pressure level (SPL) handling, flat frequency response, and natural vocal transparency. Outfitted with a premium 3-pin LEMO-style connector, this variant is purposely designed for absolute security when paired with flagship Sennheiser professional wireless transmitters.

Key Performance and Acoustic Attributes

  • Industry-Standard MKE 2 Capsule Matrix: Utilizing the renowned pre-polarized platinum condenser capsule, the HS 2 provides an incredibly flat frequency curve from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. It translates both spoken word and soaring vocal dynamics with lifelike precision and zero acoustic coloration.

  • Extreme SPL and Feedback Resilience: Engineered to handle massive acoustic volume, the capsule safely maintains clean capture up to 140 dB SPL without digital distortion or internal clipping. The omnidirectional polar pattern ensures highly natural voice reproduction, even if the wearer's head moves or turns sharply away from the boom arm.

  • Patented Moisture Shielding Design: The mic capsule incorporates an integrated umbrella diaphragm system. This creates a physical liquid canopy that actively deflects sweat, spit, and stage condensation away from the underlying transducer, avoiding mid-show moisture shorts.

  • Reinforced Steel Wire Ergonomics: Built on an ultra-low-profile steel wire frame and matching high-tensile steel wire cable, the entire assembly weighs a mere 28.9 grams. The adjustable short gooseneck allows precise placement close to the corner of the mouth while remaining visually unobtrusive to camera operators.

Deployment and Live Fitting Advice

Locking the 3-Pin LEMO Connection: The 3-pin LEMO connector is a push-pull mechanism designed for absolute security on professional stage packs. To connect, align the interior alignment keyways and push the collar straight into your SK 6212 or SK 6000 pack until it clicks. To detach, grip the knurled outer slide ring of the plug and pull straight outward—never pull by tugging the flexible steel cable wire itself.

Tailoring High-End Presence: Acoustic response can change dynamically depending on whether the headset sits exposed on a cheek or buried next to a wig line. Utilize the two included frequency caps to tune your top-end analog EQ natively. Use the pre-installed short cap (MZC 2-1) for flat, close-proximity vocals. If the mic is hidden inside a hair rig or covered by costume gauze, slide on the long cap (MZC 2-2) to physically lift presence and cut through the material damping.

Our dogs hurt their mouths chewing these bones
Color: Purple & Blue
I don't do a lot of reviews because I realize many are objective opinions. However, in this case I felt it was necessary to warn others. Our dogs are aggressive chewers. Their last rubber bones (not these) which we've purchased before, and recently purchased again, were destroyed quickly. Chunks of rubber came off the ends. Since those didn't hold up like they used to, I found these harder bones hoping they would last longer. They were able to gnaw into the hard plastic within a few minutes. This created sharp edges that cut their mouths. When I saw a bit of blood on the bones, I took them away from the dogs and threw them away. I wondered why they quit chewing on them after being so excited at first. Also, these are hard enough to damage a tooth.

Pups have shown zero interest in these toys….
Color: Purple & Blue
I would agree that these are indestructible being neither of my dogs have shown any interest in these at all. At this rate they should last forever…

Durable but losses interest
Color: Purple & Blue
My dog is an aggressive chewer. She was interested in this toy while it was new, but soon after lost interest. Good news is although it took a beating it did not break or splinter. If soppy toys are disposable in your house, give it a try.

Not strong enough for chewing
My 7 month old pup chewed the end off, where the treats go, within 30 minutes of having it. Shes a Staffordshire terrior, but shes only 30 pounds. She swallowed some of the plastic so be careful if you buy this.
