In 1986, the United States began striking gold bullion coins with a face value of $50 and a net weight of 1 ounce of pure gold. Minted in 91.67% fine gold and weighing in at 33.931 grams, these beautiful U.S. Gold Eagles celebrate the 1907 design of the $20 Saint Gaudens that was chosen to grace the obverse (front side) of these magnificent gold coins. High End Proof versions typically fetch very premium prices.
NGC graded coins are sonically sealed inside a plastic core piece that holds it securely within the transparent holder. A special label within the holder indicates the coin's certification number, grade, date, denomination, unique bar code and pedigree if applicable.
