Florida Soul celebrates great artists of the Sunshine State who produced some of the most electric, emotive soul music America has ever heard. This book tells the story of Ray Charles's musical upbringing in Florida, where he wrote his first songs and made his first recordings. It highlights the careers of Pensacola singers James and Bobby Purify and their producer, Papa Don Schroeder. Florida Soul reveals how Hank Ballard created his international hit song "The Twist" after seeing the dance in Tampa and profiles Gainesville singer Linda Lyndell ("What a Man"). Miami's Overtown and Liberty City neighborhoods produced Sam Moore of the legendary duo Sam and Dave, Willie Clarke and Johnny Pearsall of Deep City Records, and singer Helene Smith. Miami was also the longtime headquarters of Henry Stone, whose influential company T.K. Productions put out hits by Timmy Thomas, Latimore, Betty Wright, and KC and the Sunshine Band. Stone's artists and distribution deals influenced charts and radio airplay across the world. Born in the era of segregation with origins in gospel, rhythm and blues, and jazz and reaching maturity during the civil rights movement, soul music is still enjoyed today, still very much a part of our collective culture. Better options for the price

While having a striking appearance, the band has many rough edges and pulls your arm hairs. It is a good size and looks good at the surface level, but it is very light almost to the point that it feels cheap or not durable. This makes the price feel unnecessary, especially when compared to other more substantial or quality feeling options at this price point and below. If you just need a watch, it’ll do but I felt that it fell short in places, especially the band.

Beautiful Watch, and easy to set up.

Looks classy, very easy to set the time, day of the week, and date. It is a class cover so it can break if dropped (my kids broke my first one), but it's inexpensive so it wasn't a huge deal. It's easy to read. Battery hasn't died for months. It's easy to put on and the size works for me.

Runs like a Rolex

What a watch!! A very nice watch. Everyone asks if it is a Rolex!! I say NO but it keeps me on time like a Timex. The band is wearing a little quickly but otherwise thumbs up!

Most important review for this watch and company.

I bought two and they both broke. Customer service has ignored my e-mail. What more do you need to know about a company? I personally wrote them through their own website, so they could keep Amazon out of it. It makes me angry that they won't even reply to my e-mail. I was nice. Both watches broke, neither one if actually water proof. The band is exceptionally thin and it WILL break on you once it arrives. It's so poor, that my body moisture is what got into the face of the watch. What the heck? I've had better 9 dollar watches from Walmart. Zero out of zero for the COMPANY who doesn't care about their customers, and zero out of ten for watch quality. Useless. I wasted 60-80 bucks on two of these! BOTH BROKE! and in more than one way!!!!! Terribly marked up (this is less than a 10 dollar Walmart watch - quality is LOWER than the lowest 3 dollar watches off Temu, Shien, Walmart), customer service is non-existent, and the band WILL BREAK on you. It's worthless. Take your money somewhere else. Attached pictures show the moisture leak from my sweat, but in real life, it's actually much worse. Worthless, not usable. Two of them folks. TWO!
