BD's roots, however, actually date back to 1972, when Valley Fuel Injection, Ltd. first opened its doors. Much Nicer Set Than I'd Expected.

Heavyweight blades, nice handles, good balance and SHARP! I cut myself the first time I used a knife from this set - so be careful - but hey, better sharp than not.
Does not take up a lot of counter space and the wood block is quite beautiful.
Just the right number and types of knives - no BS scissors or stupid sharpeners bulking it out.

As others have already noted, there are very small defects here and there with the product but nothing that's a big deal. The knives are sharp and solid. Overall, it's a very good deal for some very good knives.
