Acclaimed Malian musician Sidi Tour' returns with his fourth album, Toubalbero. Named after the large traditional drum used to gather people in the Malian region of Gao, Toubalbero is a danceable, dynamic, and despite the region's significant political challenges, joyous album. For his first electro-acoustic album, Sidi Toure (vocals, guitar, and calabash) is joined by bassist Baba Traore drummer Mamadou 'Mandou'Kone (who also plays with Vieux Farka Toure), electric guitarist Djad' Traor', N'Goni player (traditional Malian guitar) Ousmane 'Papou Dagnon, and vocalist Babou Diallo. This is a reflection of his performance style of the last three years throughout Mali. The music is a celebration driven by the energy and groove of the rhythms. Toubalbero is exhilarating trance music overflowing with joy and carried by the beauty of Sidis voice. Previous Sidi Toure albums were recorded in a modest tin-roofed studio in Bamako. The recording sessions have to be timed around Mali's rainy season due to the noise from the rain pelting the roof. Toubalbero was recorded over the course of four days at Studio Bogolan, one of the best in Mali where artists that include Ali Farka Toure, Rokia Traore, Toumani Diabate and Bjork have recorded. The album was recorded by Yaya Cisse and produced by Nicolas 'Covalesky' Richard. The songs were recorded live to tape in order to capture the energy of the performance. The album was also mixed entirely live by Jason Meagher at Black Dirt Studio (Steve Gunn, Jack Rose). The approach mirrored the live mix of a performance. Much as mixes by the great King Tubby, it retains all the joy and energy of a gig. Sidi Toure's Toubalbero is an exuberant and irresistible call out for unity and peace for Malians and Africans. Comfortable

I recently picked up a pair of Under Armour socks, and they’ve quickly become my go-to choice for daily wear and workouts. From the first wear, the fit felt snug and supportive without being too tight. The fabric is lightweight yet durable, and it does a great job wicking sweat — keeping my feet dry even during longer runs or intense gym sessions.
One of the things I appreciate most is the arch support and cushioning in the right places. It adds just enough padding where I need it, especially under the ball and heel of the foot, which makes a noticeable difference on days when I’m on my feet a lot. The socks also have a nice breathable mesh pattern that improves airflow.

Post-COVID Sock Hunt: Finally a Win

Ever since COVID, I haven’t been able to find a pair of socks that hold up for more than a few months. Brands like UA, Adidas, and others seem to have cut corners—likely in response to inflation—by downgrading materials and labor rather than raising prices. The result? Socks that wear thin, rip easily, or lose shape fast.
These, however, have been a pleasant surprise. I’ve been wearing them for a few weeks and so far, they’re holding strong. You can tell some cost-saving measures were still made—certain areas feel slightly thinner—but overall, the construction is solid.
A key win: they stay on. These are ankle socks (not “no-shows”), and they hug the ankle securely. That’s a huge plus in a world where most post-COVID no-shows slide off halfway through the day.
We may never get back to the pre-COVID quality standards without paying a premium, but for now, these are a reliable choice.

Great Quality and Stylish

Exactly what I was looking for. I don’t like socks that are no-show that your ankles rub on the shoe. These are taller than that but shorter than socks that go up and over the ankle. They’re comfortable, good quality, and pretty thick. They’re form fitting m, but not compression. I dint like compression socks, and these are tight, but not too tight.
