Power pop legends The Rubinoos are known for turning bubblegum into gold with ridiculously catchy tunes like "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," their cover of Tommy James & The Shondells' "I Think We're Alone Now," and the theme song to Revenge of the Nerds. They were the backing band when Jonathan Richman recorded the alternate version of "Roadrunner" and they opened 56 shows for Elvis Costello on his Armed Forces tour. But what's most impressive is that The Rubinoos are approaching their 50th anniversary and penning some of their finest songs to date. "From Home" is a homecoming recording of sorts. It reunites the original lineup of the band and was recorded in the same studio where they recorded their first single for Beserkley Records nearly half a century ago. The album was co-written and produced by Chuck Prophet, and right from the opening of the lead track "Do You Remember," you'll realize that The Rubinoos never left and are here to take you back to Berkeley with them.

Such an Adorable Book
Format: Kindle
This book was one I originally borrowed on Kindle to read to my twin niece and nephew to hopefully help them stop fighting. The book was so adorable, I bought it for Kindle to make sure I always had a copy. While the message is great, treating others with kindness, the illustrations and rhymes are what make it unique. There are some larger words used, but they are all in a clear context to help build vocabulary. The twins loved the farm animals and I actually used the book as part of a lesson on kindness for my Sunday school class who also enjoyed it. Even though I already have the Kindle version, I am ordering paper copies to give as Christmas gifts this year. I love this author, the illustrations, and the message. This is the type of children's book everyone can enjoy and agree on.

Cute pictures!

Every elementary teacher needs this book!!!
Every teacher needs this book. It's not just for young grades who are learning to count, but for older grades who are learning about organisms, habitats, and the animal kingdom!! It is so chalk full of information! The opportunities to use it in the classroom abound! The illustrations are amazing! The song is wonderful, and easy for children to learn, not to mention that it is a melody that many children already know. The best buy!
