Your stock Sportster seat is polymer. Plastic pans can flex, especially when exposed to engine heat. When the pan flexes, the foam moves out from underneath you, leaving you with inadequate cushion. It may sound counterintuitive, but a firm pan is just the ticket for comfort.

This solo seat is handmade in the USA. It's built upon a solid steel pan for that aforementioned comfort and for longevity. The seat is then amply padded with foam, covered, and carpeted. The carpet protects your bike and the carefully selected foam protects your derriere from the rigors of a long ride. The cover is hand-stitched in your choice of two great-looking, classic designs that look right at home on a traditional bike like the XL.

We won't tell you this is a touring saddle, but if you're looking for a nice low-profile seat that looks the part and won't break the bank or your tailbone, the Solo is an option to consider. It's just enough seat to be comfortable without being enough to dominate the looks of your Sporty.
