The RAIDage JAGE6BT8HDSL is an enterprise-grade external storage tower engineered to deliver scalable, high-performance SAS/SATA storage for demanding workloads. With eight external drive bays, it provides a flexible foundation for RAID configurations, backups, media workflows, virtualization, and data-intensive applications. This enclosure is built around a robust backplane and a compact Mini-SAS HD host interface, enabling high-bandwidth connections to servers and workstations while keeping cables tidy and airflow unimpeded. A pair of quiet 80mm cooling fans helps manage heat during extended operations, preserving drive longevity and sustaining consistent performance even under heavy I/O. Designed for reliability and efficiency, the JAGE6BT8HDSL combines professional aesthetics—black and silver finished chassis—with practical features that professionals demand in data centers, labs, and demanding work environments.

  • 8-bay external storage tower that enables scalable expansion for RAID configurations while consolidating storage into a single, organized enclosure.
  • 12Gb/s SAS, SATA/600 compatibility ensures fast data throughput and broad drive compatibility, supporting modern enterprise SAS drives as well as high-performance SATA drives.
  • Mini-SAS HD host interface (SFF8644) provides a compact, high-bandwidth connection to servers and controllers, reducing cable clutter without sacrificing performance.
  • Two quiet 80mm cooling fans deliver effective thermal management to protect drives and maintain consistent performance during sustained workloads.
  • Sturdy black and silver chassis combines professional aesthetics with durable construction designed for long-term reliability in professional environments.

How to install RAIDage JAGE6BT8HDSL Drive Enclosure

Before you begin, ensure your power supply is turned off and you have a suitable host controller with a compatible Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) interface. Clear a clean workspace and verify that you have all necessary cables and screws for drive installation.

Step 1: Prepare the drives. Obtain SAS or SATA drives that are compatible with your RAID controller and intended RAID configuration. Ensure drives are within the supported size and capacity range for your enclosure’s backplane.

Step 2: Install drives into the enclosure. Open or access the drive bays per the enclosure’s design, slide each SAS/SATA drive into a bay until it seated securely, and secure if required by your tray system. Repeat for all bays you plan to use.

Step 3: Connect the enclosure to the host. Use a Mini-SAS HD cable to connect the enclosure’s host interface port to a compatible SAS/SATA controller on your server or workstation. Ensure the connector is firmly seated and the cable path allows for proper airflow around the enclosure.

Step 4: Provide power. Connect the enclosure to a suitable power source and power up the unit. Allow a moment for the drives to spin up and the backplane to initialize. Some controllers may require a brief driver or firmware update during first boot.

Step 5: Configure storage in your controller or operating system. Enter your RAID controller’s setup utility and configure the eight drives into your desired RAID levels (for example, RAID 0, 5, 6, or 10, depending on your needs). If you are using hot-spare drives or a JBOD configuration, set those options according to your strategy. After configuring, initialize the array and monitor the array’s health indicators.

Step 6: Monitor and optimize. Verify that all drives are detected and that temperatures remain within safe operating ranges. Update enclosure firmware or controller drivers if available, and set up alerting within your storage management software to respond quickly to any failures or deviations in performance.

The JAGE6BT8HDSL is designed to deliver reliable, scalable storage for environments that require steady throughput and robust data protection. By combining a versatile 8-bay backplane with a modern 12Gb/s SAS interface and a compact Mini-SAS HD host connection, this enclosure helps you consolidate storage while preserving server resources for other critical tasks. The two 80mm fans add a practical cooling solution that reduces thermal throttling, enabling longer sustained write-heavy operations which are common in media editing, backups, and data-intensive virtualization workloads. The black and silver chassis provides a professional look suitable for data centers, office server rooms, or dedicated storage closets, making it not only a practical solution but also an aesthetically appropriate one for professional deployments.

Dogs love them, not long lasting
Size: Large
Our dogs ignored the toy for the first day or two, then immediately became obsessed, working on them for hours at a time. They did come with big cracks/splits in them. The first one it wasn’t a big deal, but the dogs pulled large slivers and chunks off the second within minutes of using it. Also, gigantic mess around the house, like letting them play with a stick. I plan to continue to buy since the dogs love them but I do think they are a bit expensive given the quality variations.

Durable, good value, clean, natural
Size: Small, Size: Small
I bought this coffee wood toy with the coconut rope for my heavy chewer (Jack Russell Terrier) a couple of years ago. I was pretty skeptical that it would last very long and be a toy that she would enjoy. This is one of her favorite toys, it's lasted for 2+ years, and it's not gross after so much use. This dog shredded everything in sight when she was a puppy, so it was important to find her lots of different hard toys. I bought another coffee wood toy with no rope, and she doesn't care for it as much. We might have to drill a hole and add a coconut rope when this one get's too small. I have not had an issue with the coconut fibers or wood pulp, though I'm sure she's ingesting some. I have had to take away many hard toys that she managed to chew off large bits or I felt like she was eating bits of plastic, but this one has been safe for her. She was already an adult dog when I got her this toy, so I cannot vouch for how it would work for a puppy, but I suspect that it would have been a toy that I would only let her have under supervision when she was a puppy. I like that it is made from natural materials.

Flimsy rope
Size: Large
This was definitely not sturdy enough for a large dog "up to 80 lbs" as stated. My 7 month old Shepherd puppy shredded the rope part in about 5 minutes. The chew stick is a hit but very small. Flimsy for the cost!

Fast Chew
Size: Medium
Didn’t last as long as I expected. My Frenchie chewed through it in record time. I will purchase another one to see if it’s the same as the one I received.

Great for chewers
Size: Large
I have bought these for the dogs (GSD/Husky/Golden) 4 mon-7yrs. All 4 dogs enjoy them and keeps the 2 puppies from chewing things they should not. Definitely worth the money for how long they have lasted as well. Have already ordered more.
