To understand the deep magick of fine oil perfumery, begin your study of olfactory art as you would begin your study of visual art: with the classics & classic form. One of the richest, most complex & influential fragrances in history is Kyphi of Egypt. Kyphi remains a great & tantalizing mystery.
Kyphi’s elegant fragrance was prized throughout the ancient world. Poets & scholars sang its praises. It has to be prepared with the greatest care & in a ceremonial manner. Prayers are read throughout the process. Ingredients are dried, powdered, & mixed well in exact proportions. These are macerated in wine for a day. Raisins are then steeped in wine for seven days & a mixture made of resin & honey. All the ingredients are then mixed & more myrrh added. The entire process takes over a week. Each batch of Kyphi Oil is given time to bind molecularly within itself. Giving the creation just enough energy to provide the potent punch that Kyphi is known for.
Recipes for Kyphi were signature to the house of the maker & many recipes existed around the core ingredients.

Our Authentic Egyptian Kyphi Oil is based off a recipe from the temple walls at Edfu, using all natural & purest resins, roots, herbs, honey, & raisins. But instead of incense, it's now also in oil form.
