Vintage Aqua Blue AB Crystal Necklace with Rhinestone Brooch Clasp – 2 Strand

A luminous vintage long double-strand necklace featuring aqua blue aurora borealis faceted crystals and a silver-tone brooch-style clasp designed to be seen. The outer strand showcases 8mm round beads, while the inner strand features 6mm beads for a graceful layered effect. The clasp is designed in the style of a brooch, with pavé‑set rhinestones and a decorative bow motif, likely rhodium plated. It functions as the anchor point for the two strands when worn at the front and is not removable or wearable separately. Unsigned but believed to be new old stock (NOS) from the 1950s–60s based on construction and clasp design.
Excellent vintage condition. No visible wear to plating or stones. Strands are secure and clasp functions perfectly. There is light yellowing on four baguette rhinestones on the clasp, which appears more pronounced in photos than in person. Believed to be NOS with no signs of prior use.

This is a good book to read and understand how the European nations deployed their armies around the world to extract natural resources from other nations. Now, we have developing and underdeveloped nations.

Interesting book, dull period
Format: Paperback
As a Marxist historian, Hobsbawm sees the world at this time, as well as the modern world, as a playground for the forces of capitalism. He apologizes for taking a eurocentric approach to world history, while acknowledging that Europe largely determined the course of world events during this period. In spite of the title, there actually isn't much discussion of colonial empires; Hobsbawm seems more interested in how the Age of Empire affected the rulers more than the ruled. His Marxist sympathies are in evidence and at times make his conclusions a bit predictable, but some of his cultural critiques are quite brilliant. The chapter on the dilemmas posed by modern science is exceptional. Reading a book like this seems to me much more interesting than actually living in this period would have been.
