The Brainboxes Embedded Industrial 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch is built for reliability where it matters most: on demanding factory floors, in rugged automation panels, and in environments that push standard networking hardware to its limits. This compact, industrial-grade switch delivers five Gigabit Ethernet ports with galvanic isolation, providing robust protection against electrical noise and ground loops while maintaining excellent data integrity across your network. Designed to operate in extreme conditions, it thrives from -40°C to +80°C (-40°F to 176°F), ensuring stable performance through cold starts, heat waves, and everything in between. Its dual input redundant power supply with a wide voltage range offers flexible, fail-safe power options, including USB power or a 24V factory supply, so critical processes stay connected even if one power source becomes unavailable. Unmanaged and plug-and-play by design, it removes the complexity from industrial networking, letting you focus on productivity rather than configuration. If you’re seeking a rugged, dependable Ethernet switch that blends simplicity with hardened performance, this Brainboxes model is engineered to deliver consistent uptime in challenging environments.

  • Rugged, industrial-grade design delivers reliable performance in harsh environments with robust construction and protection against electrical noise.
  • Five Gigabit Ethernet ports provide high-speed, auto‑negotiating 10/100/1000 Mbps connectivity for local networks, machines, and sensors.
  • Galvanic isolation on Ethernet ports helps protect equipment from surges, ground loops, and transient faults, preserving network integrity.
  • Industrial temperature tolerance operates from -40°C to +80°C (-40°F to 176°F), enabling deployment in extreme climates and places with wide temperature swings.
  • Dual input redundant power options support a wide voltage range and allow USB or 24V DC factory power to keep critical links alive even if a primary supply fails.

How to install Brainboxes Embedded Industrial 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch

Installing this rugged switch is straightforward and quick, designed to minimize downtime in critical automation environments. Follow these practical steps to ensure reliable connectivity and long-term performance.

  • Plan placement and mounting: Choose a sheltered, well-ventilated location within the industrial enclosure or control cabinet. Ensure adequate airflow, avoid direct exposure to excessive dust or moisture, and mount the unit securely to minimize vibration and movement that could loosen connectors over time.
  • Prepare power options: Determine whether you will power the switch from USB or a 24V DC industrial supply. If you require redundancy, use both sources with proper power management to maximize uptime. Do not exceed the voltage range specified by the manufacturer.
  • Connect devices to the ports: Attach the devices, sensors, controllers, and other networked equipment to the five RJ-45 ports. Use shielded CAT5e or CAT6 cables in environments with higher electrical noise for best results; keep cable runs tidy and labeled for future maintenance.
  • Power up and verify: Apply power to the switch. Since it is unmanaged, there is no software configuration required. Observe the port status indicators to confirm that links are established and data is flowing between connected devices.
  • Document and secure: Record the network layout, port assignments, and power topology. Secure the switch within the enclosure to prevent accidental disconnections during maintenance or equipment changes.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: Is this switch managed or unmanaged?

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
