One smooth side is perfect for the final polish, which can be used with high grit paste or bare without any paste. The other side is designed to accommodate low grit paste for specific sharpening needs.
Kangaroo leather is known for its strength-to-thickness ratio, with a low fat content and thin grain layer. It is lighter and stronger than most other leathers, providing a harder stropping surface. Kangaroo leather also tends to darken faster with use and is considered a premium material.
