Standardized valerian extract to help you chill at night and sleep better

Hi-Tech Valerian-RX keeps it simple as a sleep and relaxation aid, centered on one key ingredient: European Valerian officinalis root extract standardized to 0.8% valerenic acid. That's the whole plan. Instead of blasting you with a mix of sedatives to force sleep, it sticks to this one herb that's been used forever and has solid modern backing for cutting down how long it takes to fall asleep, easing relaxation, and improving sleep overall. If you want to try valerian without leaning on melatonin or some mystery blend, this is straightforward and on point.

You get 600mg of valerian extract per serving, which means 3.2-6.4mg of valerenic acid depending on if you take 1 or 2 tablets. Studies on valerian vary because they use different types, but the pattern is clear: extracts in the 300-600mg range are common for sleep and chill vibes, taken 30 to 120 minutes before bed. Going with 2 tablets puts you at the stronger end of that range. Valerian isn't like caffeine where you feel it kick in hard; it helps by calming your nerves so it's easier to start sleeping and quiet that mental chatter before bed.

The star here is valerenic acid, the main compound listed. It's known for working with your GABA system—GABA is the brain's main chill-out chemical that tones down excitement in your nervous system. Basically, valerian helps ditch that 'wired but tired' feeling by getting your system ready for sleep. Some research shows it affects how GABA is broken down and reused, which is why it's good for both relaxing and

Key Highlights

  • 600mg European Valerian officinalis extract per serving — this isn't just ground-up root, it's a proper extract picked for helping you relax before bed. Standardized means you get consistent levels of the good stuff, better than plain herb powder.
  • 0.8% valerenic acid standardization — the label spells out the main active that's linked to valerian's calming effects. That's way better than products that just say 'valerian' without details on what's really in there.
  • Flexible 1-2 tablet dosing — go light when you just need to ease off, or stronger when falling asleep is tough. It fits because everyone handles valerian differently based on stress and how wired you are.
  • Clinically relevant use range — 1-2 tablets match the doses often seen in valerian studies. The 2-tablet option hits the sweet spot for bedtime relaxation and sleep support.
  • Targets the GABAergic calming pathway — valerian's key parts, like valerenic acid, tap into your body's main chill system. Put simply, it helps quiet the buzz that keeps you from nodding off.
  • Non-melatonin sleep support — key for folks who don't vibe with melatonin or want to skip it nightly. Valerian works differently, making it a solid herbal choice for winding down naturally.
  • Single-ingredient honesty — no secret blends, no tricks on the label, no overloaded sleep mix acting fancy. You see exactly what's driving it and can check it against the research.
  • Cyclosome technology included in the tablet system — it uses phospholipids and cyclodextrins to help with how the ingredient gets delivered. The valerian is the star, but this setup is a nice touch for better absorption.

Who Is This For?

  • Guys who train late with lifts, runs, or sparring and can't switch from hype to chill mode. Valerian-RX is a no-stim way to ease nerve buzz without melatonin every time.
  • Stressed workers whose sleep killer is a busy brain, not being tired enough. The standardized valerian helps soften that alert vibe and makes bed feel normal.
  • Folks making a simple sleep stack who want one clear herb to test. It's basically just valerian with open dosing, easy to add to magnesium or glycine without overlap guesses.
  • People who get foggy from melatonin or heavy sleep aids. Valerian goes the GABA relax route instead of hormone adds.
  • Travelers, shift folks, or anyone with messed-up schedules aiming for steady unwind. 1-2 tablets flex: light for okay nights, full for high-stress ones.
  • Everyday wellness types wanting a classic herb with modern quality checks. The 0.8% valerenic acid means it's tested, not random root powder.

How to Use

Take 1-2 tablets with water 30 to 60 minutes before bed. That window's good because it's about easing into sleep, not fixing it after you're already up staring at the ceiling. New or sensitive? Start with 1 for a few nights before bumping to 2.

Tablets, so no hassle mixing. No need for food, but a super full stomach might slow it a bit, so lots of people take it lighter as part of unwind time. Skip mixing with booze or heavy sedatives till you know your reaction.

Stacks well with basics like magnesium glycinate or glycine for more sleep help. No cycling needed like with energy boosters; steady use can actually amp up the benefits. Keep it cool and dry, away from moisture to keep the tablets solid.

What to Expect

In the first 15 to 30 minutes, don't expect a big sleepy wave; it's not that intense. You might feel a light drop in tension and an easier bedtime flow. By 30 to 60 minutes, the calm usually stands out more, especially if you're normally too alert at lights out.

First couple nights, it could seem subtle, specially on 1 tablet. Days 3 to 7, you figure out your dose and timing better. Over 2 to 4 weeks of nightly use, that's when valerian often delivers: less hassle at bed, quicker to sleep, and a reliable unwind. It's about building a habit, not instant magic.

Key Ingredients

  • European Valerian Officinalis Extract (root) — 600mg per 1-2 tablet serving — Helps quiet a wired mind before sleep
  • Valerenic Acid Standardization — 0.8% standardization yielding 3.2-6.4mg — Standardized potency for more predictable nighttime support

Frequently Asked Questions

How much valerian is in Hi-Tech Valerian-RX?

Each 1-2 tablet serving provides 600mg of European Valerian officinalis root extract standardized to 0.8% valerenic acid, yielding approximately 3.2-6.4mg valerenic acid depending on whether you take 1 or 2 tablets. The exact strength matters because valerenic acid is the main marker compound associated with valerian’s calming activity.

Is this a melatonin supplement?

No. Valerian-RX is a valerian-based sleep and relaxation formula with no melatonin listed as an active ingredient. That makes it attractive for users who want nighttime support without using a sleep hormone.

When should I take Valerian-RX?

Most users should take it 30 to 60 minutes before bed. That timing gives the valerian extract a chance to support the wind-down phase rather than trying to work after you are already in bed and overstimulated.

Should I start with 1 tablet or 2?

Start with 1 tablet if you are new to valerian, sensitive to calming supplements, or unsure how your body responds. Move to 2 tablets if you want a stronger bedtime effect and tolerate the lower dose well.

Will I feel this immediately the first night?

Possibly, but valerian is not usually a dramatic knockout ingredient. Many users notice a gentler reduction in pre-bed restlessness on the first few nights, with better overall results developing over 2 to 4 weeks of consistent use.

Can I stack Valerian-RX with magnesium or glycine?

Yes, and that is one of the advantages of a single-ingredient-style formula. Because the active profile is simple, it stacks cleanly with magnesium glycinate, glycine, or theanine without a lot of accidental ingredient duplication.

Does this product contain allergens?

It contains a Cyclosome delivery matrix with phospholipids from non-GMO soy lecithin. If you have a soy allergy or sensitivity, this is not the right fit.

Is this better than a multi-ingredient sleep formula?

It depends on your goal. If you specifically want valerian at a disclosed dose and prefer to avoid melatonin or heavy sedative blends, this is a cleaner choice. If you want broad multi-pathway sleep support in one product, a more comprehensive formula may be a better fit.

Can I use Valerian-RX every night?

Many users do, and consistent nightly use is often where valerian performs best. Unlike stimulant formulas, it does not require cycling for tolerance management in the same way, though periodic reassessment of need is always sensible.

Does Hi-Tech Valerian-RX have caffeine or stimulants?

No meaningful stimulant is present in the active formula. Despite a metadata flag elsewhere, this product is clearly designed as a stim-free nighttime supplement centered on valerian extract.

Works great but design flaw.
Color: Wood
Works great. 3 settings. The first is HOT. I usually use the middle or low setting and they keep my cup warm and drinkable. There is a flaw though with this device. The warming button is so easy to touch /come on that several times on my desk, it has come on without me realizing it from paper hitting it, a pen rolled against it or simply moving it over and it is on highest setting when it comes on so I have burned my fingers now twice. I just always double and triple check it isn’t on.

Powerful Mug Warmer with Excellent Heat Output and Large Heating Surface
Color: Wood, Color: Wood
CAUTION: Unplug when not using. It is very easy to activate or turn on by mistake. Simply brushing up next to it will turn it on. Nonetheless, I use this SWEETFULL coffee mug warmer every morning and afternoon. It’s usually one of the first things I turn on so I can preheat my latte cup before pulling espresso. I like my lattes very hot, and preheating the cup helps prevent heat loss during extraction. I also use it as a candle warmer as an alternative to open flame, which I prefer for indoor air quality. The heat output is impressive. Even on the lowest setting, it gets very hot and reaches usable temperature quickly. The large heating surface is a major advantage. My latte and cappuccino cups have a wide mouth, and this warmer heats the entire base evenly rather than just the center, which makes a noticeable difference in temperature retention. Warm-up time is reasonable, though slightly faster heating would make it even better, especially during busy mornings when I’m trying to get out the door. That said, it’s not slow enough to be a real drawback, and once it’s hot, it performs consistently. Overall, this is a strong performer that does exactly what it’s designed to do. It’s a great option for coffee lovers who want hotter drinks for longer, and for candle users who prefer a flame-free, cleaner alternative inside the home.

Best mug warmer I have tried
Color: Wood
I am retired and use my mug warmer pretty much all day. I normally start my day with a cup of coffee and then switch to tea the rest of the day. Even when I work on projects around the house or leave to run errands, there is a cup of something on the warmer. So there is basically a mug on the warmer from 7 am until midnight making a good quality mug warmer a necessity. I have tried two other mug warmers and with mixed results. The others I tried both turned on automatically activated by the weight of the mug which I did like. However, there we a few times when I left a mug on the warmer overnight so that design has it's flaws, and now that I have tried it, I prefer the four hour auto shut off feature of this model. I also like the three temperatures settings....a lot. The high temp setting (and it's hot) comes in real handy when you need to reheat a mug's contents after it shuts off when left unattended. I also use it when I make instant oatmeal in a ceramic bowl that has a thick bottom and it keeps the contents hot. Plus the middle and low end settings are nice so you can change the temperature of the contents to suit your mood. One design feature I have really come to appreciate is the no slip bottom. This mug warmer stays put and does not slide around on the table top. A real nice feature if you have furniture made from wood or other finish that might otherwise get scratched. The soft touch switch on this mug warmer blends in with the wood design of the model I have which does make it a bit harder to see, especially in low light settings. However, it is directly opposite the power cord so I have gotten use to locating it by feel and activating it by a swipe of one finger....it's pretty cool once you get used to it. Plus the indicator light is easy to see and know what setting the warmer is on. After having used this mug warmer for a while now I have really come to appreciate the quality and features this unit has for the price. The others I tried were as much as $10 more and not nearly as nice...and obviously did not last very long. One thing worth pointing out is the hot setting is very hot. If you have small toddlers in the house who use things to help them stand up and balance, this might not be the best model to choose. But that is the only real negative I can think of really. In my opinion, and this is all about that, this is a great mug warmer at any price point and I can recommend it without hesitation.

Worth more than $20 I paid!
Color: Black
I was very surprised with how expensive this felt and looked while still being affordable. It has several levels and kept my coffee hot. I love my coffee really hot and this kept it there for hours. Word of advice not all coffee cups will work it needs to be all ceramic or glass and cup handle will get hot.
