The Monarch II is constructed from a high quality, 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. The 40MM watch case has been given a beautiful brushed finish, with a polished accent on the edges of both the bezel and lugs. Protecting the face of this timepiece, is an upgraded sapphire crystal which offers the best protection against scratches. The Monarch II has a water resistance of 5ATM, making it splash and rain resistant and allows for mild, shallow water activities.

 

Clean, crisp and timeless, the multi-dimensional dial of the Monarch II is anything but boring. Applied Arabic style index markers add character to the dial and give off a handsome raised look. The leaf style hour and minute hands add elegance and are perfectly contrasted by the thin second hand, which sweeps at 4 beats per second. The dial itself is finished with a sunray effect on the main section, which then blends into the recessed groves that surround it. On the flat outer track of the dial you will find minute markings, which are accented by rectangular applied markers that sit above each hour marker. Further accenting the dial, a raised Kingsbury 'K', in gold, sits above the 6 o'clock, putting an exclamation point on the design.

 

The Monarch comes equipped with a beautiful, calfskin leather strap with color matched stitching. The 20mm wide strap, which has a thickness of 3mm, is soft and comfortable to wear and measures 125mm/80mm, large enough to accommodate most wrist sizes. The stainless steel buckle has a polished finish and is signed with the 'Kingsbury' branding.

 

The Monarch is powered by an especially unique Japanese VH31 quartz movement, designed by the famous Seiko Watch Corporation. Unlike most quartz movements that only tick once per second, the Monarch beats at 4 times per second, which gives the second hand a pleasant sweeping effect. The VH31 movement has 2 jewels and is highly accurate, boasting a time keeping precision of -15/+15 seconds per month making it quite the desirable engine.
