Overview:
The Red Tailed Pakistani Collare Butterfly Fish, a striking addition to any marine aquarium, is cherished for its vibrant coloration and peaceful demeanor. This species features a predominately yellow and white body with a distinctive red tail, alongside a black vertical band that runs through the eye, contributing to its unique appearance.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, the Chaetodon collare thrives in reef environments. They are commonly found in areas ranging from Sri Lanka to Indonesia, where they navigate through coral and rocky outcroppings.
Feeding:
In the wild, their diet mainly consists of coral polyps, tentacles of feather dusters, and other small invertebrates. In captivity, they require a varied diet that includes marine flakes, coral polyps, mysis shrimp, and spirulina to maintain their health and coloration. It is crucial to introduce a balanced diet to ensure their well-being in an aquarium setting.
Tank Mates:
The Red Tailed Pakistani Collare Butterfly Fish is generally peaceful and can coexist with a variety of other marine species. Ideal tank mates include other peaceful fish and invertebrates that do not compete aggressively for food. Care should be taken to avoid housing them with large, aggressive species that may intimidate or harm them.
Aggression:
This species is known for its peaceful nature, rarely displaying aggression towards other tank inhabitants. However, they may exhibit territorial behavior towards other butterflyfish, especially in smaller aquariums. Providing ample space and hiding spots can minimize potential conflicts.
Experience Level:
Caring for the Chaetodon collare requires an intermediate level of experience. Aquarists should be familiar with the specific needs of marine fish and the maintenance of a reef aquarium. Proper water quality, regular feeding, and a stable environment are essential for their health.
Water Parameters:
  • Temperature: 72°F - 78°F (22°C - 26°C)
  • pH: 8.1 - 8.4
  • Salinity: 1.020 - 1.025 sg
  • Ammonia/Nitrite: 0 ppm
  • Nitrate: <20 ppm
A well-maintained tank that closely mimics their natural habitat is crucial for the wellbeing of the Red Tailed Pakistani Collare Butterfly Fish. Regular water changes, adequate filtration, and stable water conditions are essential to ensure a thriving environment for this exquisite species.

Garmin has been a super disappointment.
Style: Alpha TT 25
FOR THE REMOTE: For reasons I cannot fathom as a software developer, the Garmin developers chose to program the handheld to wait for GPS lock before allowing you to control the collar. This is stupid beyond belief and causes frustration that simply shouldn't be. Look Garmin, the remote should be able to communicate with the collar first and foremost. I want to be able to power everything up, put the collar on the dog, and walk out the door. If my dog sees a rabbit or deer, I want to be able to remind him not to chase. I DON'T want to stand there staring at my remote greeted by the message "Waiting for GPS" with all the buttons non-responsive. Fix this! This should be super easy to fix with a firmware update. Fix it and I'll gladly give this unit 10 stars! GPS is way too finicky to have to wait for it before using the basic controls. Update: SERIOUSLY!! HOT GARBAGE. This remote couldn't find a satellite if I stuck one up its... AGH.. and you can't communicate with your dog's collar until it does. FOR THE COLLAR: You won't be happy with the beeper.. It's super quiet. The light is an awesome feature. Vibration may work for your dog, mine doesn't seem to notice it at all. If the antenna was any longer it would pick up signals from outer space. Buy the shorter one if you decide to go with this unit and don't need to keep your dog from crossing an ocean. Seriously though... I'll never buy anything Garmin again. I would recommend you don't either.
