Marcus Aurelius Severus Alexander (October
1, 208–March 18, 235 AD), commonly called Alexander Severus, was the last Roman
emperor (11 March 222–235) of the Severan dynasty

Alexander Severus succeeded his cousin,
Elagabalus upon the latter's assassination in 222 AD, and was ultimately
assassinated himself, marking the epoch event for the Crisis of the Third
Century —nearly fifty years of disorder, Roman civil wars, economic chaos,
regional rebellions, and external threats that brought the Empire to
near-collapse.

Alexander Severus was the heir apparent to his cousin, the eighteen-year-old
Emperor who had been murdered along with his mother by his own guards—and as a
mark of contempt, had their remains cast into the Tiber river . He and his
cousin were both grandsons of the influential and powerful Julia Maesa , who had
arranged for Elagabalus' acclamation as Emperor by the famed Third Gallic Legion
.

A rumor of Alexander's death circulated, triggering the assassination of
Elagabalus.

Alexander's reign was marked by troubles. In military conflict against the
rising Sassanid Empire , there are mixed accounts, though the Sassanid threat
was checked. However, when campaigning against Germanic tribes of Germania ,
Alexander Severus apparently alienated his legions by trying diplomacy and
bribery, and they assassinated him.

Alexander was the last of the Syrian
emperors. Under the influence of his mother, he did much to improve the morals
and condition of the people. His advisers were men like the famous jurist
Ulpian, the historian Cassius Dio and a select board of sixteen senators; a
municipal council of fourteen assisted the urban praefect in administering the
affairs of the fourteen districts of Rome. The luxury and extravagance that had
formerly been so prevalent at the court were put down; the standard of the
coinage was raised; taxes were lightened; literature, art and science were
encouraged; the lot of the soldiers was improved; and, for the convenience of
the people, loan offices were instituted for lending money at a moderate rate of
interest.

Just What I Needed for My Home Office
Color: Black
I’ve been very happy with this office chair. It was straightforward to assemble, feels sturdy, and offers excellent support for long hours at my desk. The adjustable lumbar support, armrests, and headrest make it easy to customize for a comfortable fit, and the mesh design helps keep the chair breathable throughout the day. Overall, this chair is comfortable, ergonomic, and a great value for a home office setup.

OK for basic Office chair
Color: Black
Positives:Comfortable chair, decent lumbar support. Negatives: no height adjustment for seat or tilt. Handles spin to sides with the slightest touch. Will try to figure out how to securehandles in place. Period good entry level office chair, should have ordered more of an upgraded chair.

Great daily chair
Color: Black, Color: Black
This is a great chair and very comfortable. I'm hard on fabrics and the material is excellent for me. I didn't think I would like the headrest (because I've never had one), however, I enjoy it's use at times. The wheels roll very easily and the seat height is perfect. The seat is easy to keep clean. I've had this chair for 3 months with daily use and it looks brand new. I would buy this chair again.

Cheaply made but functional
Color: Black
Pros: The headrest is highly adjustable. Even if you're tall you'll likely be able to tilt it so that you can rest your head on it while reclining. The instructions for putting it together are easy to follow. It's perfectly serviceable as a desk chair with no glaring defects. The mesh material keeps your body cool and dry even when sitting in it all day. Cons It's obviously very lightweight and cheaply made. This does make the chair easier to move, but this doesn't really feel like a $180 chair at all. More like a $120 or even $100 chair. The chair back is attached to the chair seat by a plastic bracket. Nearly every desk chair I've had in the past has had their back attached to the bottom with a metal bracket, and even those start to bend out of shape after a year or so. While reclining a good portion of your weight will be resting on this plastic bracket, and I simply cannot see this cheap plastic lasting for very long supporting anyone's body weight over a long period of time. If you buy this chair, make sure to get the warranty. The armrests are closer together than on most chairs, which creates a claustrophobic feeling of being squeezed by them. You get used to it eventually, and you can just put the armrests up if you want to, but a way to adjust the armrest width would have been nice. The lumbar support doesn't really do anything at all. It only presses against my back at the most intense setting, and even then not very much. There is no incremental recline setting. Either you are fully reclined, or sitting fully upright. Luckily the full recline setting is about perfect for me, but for a $180 chair you'd expect a bit more settings here.
