Our handmade Yoshihiro Blue Steel Suminagashi knives are crafted with extraordinary skill by our master artisans, showcasing the most intricate techniques of forging, layering, and hammering. The core of Aoko Blue Steel #1, with a hardness on the Rockwell scale of 64, is expertly forged with iron to create elaborate finishes. The term Suminagashi, meaning "floating ink," refers to the beautiful marbled wave-like patterns that stretch from the tip to the heel of the blade. These patterns evolve with each sharpening, revealing a new mosaic each time. Only the most skilled artisans can bring together these metals in such complex formations, fashioning knives of exceptional aesthetic appeal and performance.

Our Yoshihiro Blue Steel #1 Suminagashi knives are complemented with a traditional Japanese-style handcrafted Ebony wood handle, affixed with a Water Buffalo horn bolster. These knives also come with a rare artisan-crafted Saya, a protective wooden sheath made from premium Ebony wood, which not only safeguards the knife but enhances its elegant appearance when not in use.

The Kiritsuke is a versatile and traditional Japanese chef's knife that resembles a sword. Its length allows it to perform similar tasks to a Yanagi, ideal for cutting sushi and sashimi, while the wider blade gives it the dexterity to handle multiple jobs. The sword tip helps balance the weight of the knife, providing precision for intricate knife work and exquisite service. Even the simplest tasks are elevated with a handcrafted knife that is as functional as it is beautiful.

Magic, Fantasy & Adventure
Format: Paperback
Aster is upset at having to leave the city and move to the mountains for her mom’s job. She’s quickly bored and very reluctantly ventures outside and only because her dad makes her. She soon finds out they’re living in a valley full of magic. With a talking dog named Buzz, a Trickster called Rapscallion and the tiny Chestnut Knights just to name a few of the wacky characters, middle-grade readers will find plenty to like in this action packed novel. There are two Aster adventures contained in this first volume. It’s a winsomely illustrated graphic novel, tailor-made for children who love magic, fantasy and adventure stories.
