A truly rare and luxurious jewel, this antique pendant compact is a beautiful expression of Edwardian refinement and innovation. Crafted in 9 carat gold, it combines elegance, practicality, and sentiment in a single, wearable work of art.
The front of the compact is centred by a glistening diamond-set letter ‘M’, likely a personal monogram. A timeless symbol of identity or affection. Surrounding the initial is a ring of white enamel, delicately accented with tiny blue enamel dots – a charming detail that adds both colour and intricacy.
Dating to 1911, the compact opens to reveal a perfectly preserved mirror and a small compartment . Originally intended for face powder, but equally suited today for storing a tiny keepsake, photo, or even a note. The hinge and clasp mechanism are in excellent working order, making it both functional and collectible.
This piece would have been a luxurious and intimate gift at the time of its creation. A fusion of jewellery and utility, worn close to the heart, and carried through time with care.
