Based on Tim Burton’s blockbuster film of the same name, this animated show features Beetlejuice (voiced by Stephen Ouimette), the wild “ghost with the most” from the “Neitherworld” and his mortal best friend Lydia Deetz (voiced by Aylson Court), a young, perky goth girl attending a private school in a sleepy little Connecticut town of Peaceful Pines. Toward the end of its run, this animated series also included Doomie the Car, who liked to chase dogs.

Dressed in a garish striped shirt and sporting some of the most crooked green teeth seen on television, Beetlejuice acted as a protector to Lydia in various scrapes once she conjured him up by saying his name three times fast. Beetlejuice promptly whisks her off from her ordinary life into wacky adventures in the land of the dead, or Neitherworld, which is filled with kooky characters and madcap monsters at every turn – most of them parodies of pop culture (notably Jacques the fitness-crazed skeleton, Ginger the tap-dancing spider, and the Monster Across the Street) – either befriended or bedevilled them.
