This umbrella swift measures 22" from table top and has 14" ribs that hold up to a 60" skein of yarn. This Natural Swift is made from natural birch wood.

The Oregon Wood Worker Yarn Ball Winder will handle skeins for lace weight, fingering, sport, DK, and worsted up to skeins of about 220 yards of medium weight yarn or about 200 grams or about 5-7 ounces of yarn into a ball.  

A ball winder is needed to convert the yarn hank or skein into a usable ball. It just clamps on a table and you start turning the handle.
