"Black Boots, White Socks" Giclee Paper PrintsTHE STORY: Black Boots, White Socks was designed as a way for me to experiment with the different values (light, darkness, and midtone) of an image I took of a chrome y chestnut gelding with his rider. The duality of the riders shiny black tall boots and the horses tall white socks was an interesting visual I wanted to further study: what would happen if I put a light value next to the black boots and what if I put a dark value next to the white
THE STORY:
“Black Boots, White Socks” was designed as a way for me to experiment with the different values (light, darkness, and midtone) of an image I took of a chrome-y chestnut gelding with his rider. The duality of the rider’s shiny black tall boots and the horse’s tall white socks was an interesting visual I wanted to further study: what would happen if I put a light value next to the black boots and what if I put a dark value next to the white socks? I enjoyed playing with this painting so much and I’m really looking forward to creating similar designs in the future but with different colored horses and backgrounds.

If a print is damaged during shipment, email Alex at [email protected] within a week of receiving your damaged print so we can make the proper arrangements to have the damaged items refunded or replaced. To expedite the process, please include photos of the outer packaging and damaged print.
