This Green Tourmaline on Elestial Quartz with mica 60*35*26mm weighs 70g. This specimen was sourced from Pakistan for us by our partner, Lawrence Handicrafts. The Quartz is tending towards Smoky. The Muscovite and other mica give it a real glitter. The Green Tourmaline is tiny fine crystals. Green Tourmaline is a beautiful complex lithium-rich borosilicate mineral. Elbaite usually forms as elongated rods or prismatic crystals that are heavily striated. Green (and blue) Elbaite crystals are often pleochroic, which means that the crystal appears darker in colour when viewed along its vertical axis, compared to viewing along its horizontal axis. Elbaite is an igneous mineral that almost always forms in granite pegmatites.
