Intelligent Rear Hub Motor

Precision-engineered for seamless power delivery across diverse urban environments.

At the heart of the Y16 lies a high-performance rear hub motor that redefines what a city e-bike can accomplish. With a peak output of 1,000W and a rated continuous power of 750W, this brushless DC motor provides the ideal balance of torque and efficiency. Whether you’re accelerating from a standstill at a traffic light or climbing a moderate incline, the motor responds with smooth, predictable power that inspires confidence on every ride.

The rear hub configuration centralizes mass low and toward the back of the bike, enhancing traction on the rear wheel — especially beneficial when paired with the 4.0-inch fat tires. Riders can expect brisk acceleration that makes merging into city traffic feel effortless, while the motor’s quiet operation preserves the peace of early-morning commutes and late-evening rides alike. Advanced thermal management within the motor housing helps maintain consistent performance even during extended use, and the sealed construction resists moisture and dust ingress, contributing to long-term reliability.

⚡ Power Insight: The 1,000W peak output delivers robust passing power when needed, while the 750W rated figure reflects the motor’s sustainable output for continuous cruising. This dual-characteristic design gives you exhilarating bursts of speed without sacrificing everyday efficiency.

Brushless DC Architecture

Minimal mechanical wear, reduced maintenance, and higher efficiency compared to brushed motor designs.

Sealed & Weather-Resistant

Engineered to withstand splashes, light rain, and dusty roads, extending the motor’s service life.

48V 15Ah Lithium Battery System

High-density energy storage with rapid charging for maximum uptime.

Powering the Y16 is a 48-volt, 15 amp-hour lithium battery with a total energy capacity of 720 watt-hours. This premium battery pack utilizes advanced lithium-ion cell technology to deliver consistent voltage output throughout the discharge cycle, meaning you’ll experience strong performance from the first mile to the last. Under typical riding conditions with a mix of pedal assist and throttle use, riders can expect a range exceeding 37 miles (60+ km) on a single charge — more than enough for most daily commutes, errand runs, or leisurely weekend explorations.

One of the standout features of the Y16 battery system is its rapid charging capability. With a full recharge achieved in under 3 hours, the bike spends less time tethered to an outlet and more time on the road. This fast-charge performance is ideal for office commuters who can top up during the workday, or for riders planning back-to-back outings without lengthy downtime. The battery housing is seamlessly integrated into the bike’s frame design, maintaining clean aesthetics while protecting the cells from environmental exposure. A sophisticated Battery Management System (BMS) continuously monitors voltage, temperature, and current to safeguard against overcharging, overheating, and short circuits.

⚡ Charging Efficiency: Under 3 hours to full capacity means you can recharge during a lunch break or while running errands — dramatically reducing range anxiety for urban riders.

Hiten Steel Frame & Urban Design

A foundation of strength, comfort, and timeless city-bike aesthetics.

The Y16 is built around a robust Hiten steel frame — a material renowned in the cycling world for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and natural vibration-damping properties. Unlike aluminum frames that can transmit road buzz directly to the rider, Hiten steel absorbs micro-vibrations from uneven pavement, contributing to a noticeably smoother and more comfortable ride over long distances. The frame geometry is carefully calculated to provide an upright, relaxed riding posture that reduces strain on the back and shoulders, making the Y16 an ideal companion for daily commuting, casual cruising, and everything in between.

With a maximum payload capacity of 265 lbs (120 kg), the Y16 accommodates a wide spectrum of riders and cargo configurations. The sturdy frame construction, reinforced weld points, and heavy-duty components work in concert to ensure structural integrity under load. Additionally, the bike offers customizable logo options, allowing riders, fleets, or businesses to personalize their Y16 with branding or unique design accents — a thoughtful feature for corporate campuses, rental operators, or anyone seeking a distinctive look.

Vibration-Damping Steel

Hiten steel naturally attenuates road vibrations, reducing rider fatigue on longer journeys.

Ergonomic Upright Posture

Optimized frame geometry promotes a natural, comfortable riding position for daily use.

Customizable Logo Panels

Personalize your ride with custom branding — ideal for businesses, fleets, or individual style.

16-Inch Wheels & 4.0-Inch Fat Tires

Uncompromising traction, stability, and versatility across changing terrain.

The Y16 rides on 16-inch wheels wrapped in 4.0-inch wide fat tires — a combination that delivers an expansive contact patch for superior grip on pavement, gravel, packed dirt, and even light sand or snow. These oversized tires act as natural shock absorbers, cushioning the ride over potholes, curbs, and uneven surfaces without the complexity of a suspension system. The increased air volume allows for lower tire pressures, which further enhances comfort and traction while reducing the risk of pinch flats.

Whether navigating rain-slicked city streets or venturing onto a gravel pathway through a park, the fat tire footprint inspires confidence. The aggressive tread pattern is optimized for urban use — providing efficient rolling on hard surfaces while retaining enough bite for loose conditions. This versatility makes the Y16 a true all-terrain city bike, equally at home on a bike lane as it is on a recreational trail.

🛣 Terrain Versatility: 4.0-inch fat tires expand your riding horizons beyond paved roads. From cobblestone alleys to park trails, the Y16 adapts without hesitation.

Disc Brake System

Precision stopping power engineered for all-weather reliability.

Safety is paramount in urban riding, and the Y16 delivers with a front and rear disc brake system that provides consistent, powerful stopping performance in both dry and wet conditions. Unlike traditional rim brakes that can lose effectiveness when rims are wet or muddy, disc brakes maintain their bite regardless of weather, giving you dependable control when you need it most. The disc rotor design dissipates heat efficiently during prolonged braking, reducing fade on long descents or during stop-and-go city traffic.

The braking feel is progressive and intuitive — light lever pressure yields gentle speed modulation, while a firmer squeeze brings the bike to a swift, controlled stop. This predictable response is especially valuable in urban environments where sudden stops may be necessary. Combined with the fat tires’ ample grip, the disc brake system forms a comprehensive safety package that keeps you in command of every ride.

7-Speed Gear System

Adaptable gearing for flat sprints, rolling hills, and everything between.

The Y16 is equipped with a 7-speed drivetrain that puts the right gear ratio at your fingertips. On flat city streets, shift into higher gears to maintain efficient cruising speed with the motor’s assistance. When the terrain rises, drop into lower gears to optimize torque and preserve battery range. This mechanical gear range complements the electric motor beautifully, allowing you to fine-tune your pedaling effort to match conditions, fitness level, and desired workout intensity.

The shift action is crisp and reliable, with clearly indexed positions that let you change gears confidently without looking down. Whether you’re accelerating from a stop on an incline or spinning comfortably along a riverside path, the 7-speed system ensures you always have an appropriate gear ready. This level of control also contributes to extended range, as efficient pedaling in the optimal gear reduces unnecessary drain on the battery.

The Urban Riding Experience

How the Y16 transforms everyday journeys into something extraordinary.

From the moment you swing a leg over the Y16, the bike communicates a sense of solidity and readiness. The upright seating position provides excellent visibility in traffic — you sit high enough to see over most sedans, giving you a commanding view of the road ahead. The wide handlebars offer leverage for precise steering inputs, while the broad saddle and ergonomic grips minimize pressure points during extended rides. This is a bike that feels equally at home on a 2-mile coffee run as it does on a 20-mile weekend exploration.

Acceleration is smooth and linear — the rear hub motor delivers power in a progressive manner that never feels abrupt or unsettling. As speed builds, the fat tires hum quietly beneath you, their substantial air volume absorbing surface imperfections that would rattle a lesser bike. In urban stop-and-go conditions, the responsive disc brakes and instant motor engagement make navigating traffic feel intuitive rather than stressful. The 7-speed gear range ensures you can always find a comfortable cadence, whether climbing a bridge approach or cruising a flat boulevard. Taken together, the Y16 delivers a riding experience that is engaging, confidence-inspiring, and genuinely enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common inquiries about the Y16 Electric Fat Tire City Bike.

What is the actual range I can expect on a single charge?

Under typical urban riding conditions with a mix of pedal assist and throttle use, riders can expect a range of over 37 miles (60+ km) per charge. Actual range depends on several factors including rider weight, terrain, assist level selected, tire pressure, ambient temperature, and riding style. Conservative use of pedal assist at lower power levels can extend the range significantly beyond the stated figure.

How does the fat tire design benefit city riding?

The 4.0-inch fat tires provide a significantly larger contact patch with the road surface compared to standard bicycle tires. This translates to enhanced grip on wet or loose surfaces, improved stability when navigating potholes or uneven pavement, and built-in shock absorption that reduces the need for a suspension fork. For city riders, this means greater confidence when encountering unexpected road conditions and a more comfortable overall ride quality.

Can I ride the Y16 without using the electric motor?

Yes, absolutely. The Y16 can be ridden as a traditional pedal bike with the motor switched off. The 7-speed gear system allows you to find a comfortable pedaling cadence without electric assistance. Keep in mind that the bike’s weight (due to the motor and battery) is higher than a non-electric bicycle, so you may notice increased effort when riding unpowered, particularly on inclines.

Is the battery removable for charging?

The battery is integrated into the frame for a clean aesthetic and secure fit. Charging is performed via a port on the bike, allowing you to plug in directly without removing the battery. This design protects the battery connections from wear associated with frequent removal while maintaining the bike’s streamlined appearance.

What type of terrain can the Y16 handle?

The Y16 is designed primarily as a city bike but its fat tires and robust frame make it versatile enough for light off-road use. It performs well on paved roads, bike lanes, gravel paths, packed dirt trails, and cobblestone streets. It is not intended for aggressive mountain biking, deep sand, deep snow, or technical singletrack trails. For urban and suburban mixed-terrain riding, it excels.

many feelings
Format: Kindle
I didn’t know what this book was about when I first started reading.. one thing I felt at the beginning was…amazement? I love writing letters, something I don’t do often, I recently bought this beautiful fountain pen, I wanted to start small, writing greeting cards to family and friends, birthday cards, thank yous, etc. what I didn’t expect is the emotional toll this book had on me, and other members of my family who read the book for our book club. The subject matters, death of a child, husband dying of cancer, the significance of May 29th, all impacted our family, and so, as I read this book, I had to put it down several times because I had to cry, compose myself, think of regrets I have, and remember. How amazing it is that Sybil was able to write all about the death of her child to her dead child. I always say that writing it down on paper releases your burden in your head…it is true, I think writing letters, even the ones she didn’t send helped her quiet her head, at least for a while. I truly love this book. I have been borrowing books from Libby to read for our book club for a very long time, there have been books that I fell in love with, and always thought if I want to read them again I’ll just borrow them again, this book is the first one that I want to own physically to put on my shelf and know that I have it to read over and over again when I want to reflect and then quiet my head. ( This is the longest review I’ve written about a book I’ve read, I hope it makes sense).

Successful Epistolary Novel
Format: Kindle
When we first meet Sybil Van Antwerp, age 73, she is retired from law and spends a lot of time writing letters and emails. She also reads a lot and is interested in what her correspondents are reading. She has children and grandchildren, but she lives alone in Annapolis, Maryland, and doesn’t see her family very often. During the course of reading her correspondence, we very gradually learn about Sybil—her history and her present troubles. She is a complicated character and several times in reading The Correspondent I paused to ask myself what I thought of Sybil—did I like her? What about her kept me from the immediate response a reader usually has about the main character of a book? Even at the end of the book, I am still ambivalent about Sybil, but I certainly understand her much better. Sybil, herself, and the book have so many layers. There is true depth to the story. My book club took deep dives into it over a period of three weeks, and I don’t think we have sampled all the topics represented in this book. It is a wonderful novel for stimulating meaningful discussion. Neurodivergence is not called out or named, but it comes to mind in thinking about Harry, a child who is the son of a judge, a former colleague of Sybil. The boy doesn’t quite fit in socially with his peers, but he is brilliant. Sybil makes the perfect “pen pal” for Harry because they have some of the same characteristics. As a child she was punished for “insolence and rudeness,” but her parents were just trying to mold her into a polite young lady as expected by society. She was blunt and didn’t have many friends. There are so many other issues worthy of discussion, but they would most certainly bring up spoilers. I won’t do that to you. Readers should have the opportunity to see the story gradually emerge from the letters, including a continuing one that the reader doesn’t know to whom Sybil is writing. Sybil sets the word “stone” for secrets, and there are stones in this book making it a puzzle, a mystery of sorts—for the reader. As a reviewer, I tend to go quickly from one book to the next as soon as I have composed and published my thoughts. Characters in various books can even blend together. This is not the case with The Correspondent. The characters in this book, especially Sybil, have stayed with me and come to mind frequently as I go through my day. Virginia Evans has created a fictional world with impact. Just as Sybil needed time (years in her case) to process the events of her life, the reader will need time to process them and their effects on Sybil as well.

exceptional, very highly recommended character-driven literary family drama
Format: Kindle
Whistler by Ann Patchett is an exceptional, very highly recommended character-driven literary family drama which will definitely be one of the best books I've read this year. In Whistler Patchett has given us a beautifully written, eloquent, insightful and sensitive story encompassing the complexity of families, connections, and relationships over time. I love everything about this book. As they were visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Daphne Fuller's retired husband Jonathan notices an older man following them and they discover he is Eddie Triplett, Daphne's former stepfather. She hasn't seen him for 44 years but immediately remembers her love for him and the bond they had for a couple years. The two also shared a traumatic experience when she was nine and they were in a car accident. Immediately after this Daphne's mother divorced Eddie and he disappeared from her life. After this chance meeting and reconnection, Daphne immediately and understandably needs to see and tell her younger sister, Leda, about it. The sisters had a complicated childhood that Daphne never felt was very happy. Daphne and Leda's biological father, Buddy Zabriskie, was a deep-sea fisherman and left the family early, although the girls had a relationship with him. Then their mother married Eddie and both girls loved him for the brief time he was in their lives. Their third and final stepfather, Lucas Ekker, still lives with her mother in Massachusetts and they had two sons. The two sisters were done with stepfathers at this point. As the narrative unfolds, Daphne and Eddie continue to meet and restore their relationship as father and daughter, but now as adults. While following the present day events, Interstitial chapters jump back in time when Eddie was her stepfather and cover the events from when they were in the car accident. It is during these interludes back in time that were learn the story of Whistler and also see the deep connection between Eddie and Daphne. Events in both the past and present show how complicated interpersonal relationships are, how little we truly understand of our past, and, ultimately, how fragile life can be. Because this is a character-driven story, all the characters are portrayed as realistic, fully realized individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The narrative examines relationships, choices made in both the past and present and how many seemingly small and inconsequential moments can follow us our whole lives. It also gently shows how being recognized and understood by another person, even for a short period of time, can change your life and theirs. Whistler by Ann Patchett is a wonderful choice for everyone who enjoys thoughtful, sensitive, character-driven literary novels. Thanks to HarperCollins for providing me with an advance reader's copy via Edelweiss. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.
