The Victoria Black and Grey Ash Burl Classic Chess Set is one of our most elegant sets, with a unique look thanks to the stunning gloss grey chessboard.
The detailing really is superb, with each piece nicely weighted with green flocked bases. At 9.5cm, the king is of competition size, and all of the black pieces are subjected to an ebonising process that makes them look exactly like real ebony, without the associated price tag.
To showcase these rather special pieces, we have chosen a beautifully finished, high-gloss lacquered large chessboard produced by renowned Spanish chessboard maker Rechapados Ferrer. Quality grey ash burl and maple veneers and fabrication techniques are used, and this makes for a chessboard with clean lines and meticulous attention to detail. The ash has a beautiful marbled burl grain that seems to jump when the light catches it. Perfect for accompanying the Victoria Series Ebonised chessmen.
